Also hearing you talk about becoming a child life specialist is so cool to me because from the time i was in eighth grade to now (about to be a senior in college) I've been volunteering with my dad to create ibooks for child life specialist teams at different hospitals to help them explain procedures and things in the hospital to kids and their families so its so cool to hear you talk about that! Such an amazing career path
I think it is completely okay to be sad about big events such as rush being cancelled or changed! You have a super mature attitude about it which is awesome!
Hey Lauren! My son was in bone marrow failure when he was 3yrs old and we spent a couple of years constantly in the hospital. I’m not exaggerating when I say the child life specialists at our hospital were the absolute best and made everything my son had to go through, sooooo much less stressful. They helped us through some of the worst days of our lives and were there to help prepare my son for some really intense procedures. Then some days they would just have some fun things to do and spend time playing with him. We loved our child life specialists!! It makes my heart so happy to hear you are hoping to one day work in this area because you can really make a difference in people’s lives..and I think you’d be awesome at it :)

As a kid I was really sick(doing chemotherapy, monthly hospitalizations, blood transfusions etc) starting at the age of 8 on up to age 20 when i 'aged out' of pediatric care. I had 2 child life specialists who made every hospital trip so much easier and just an all around amazing experience. Im now 21, and till keep in contact with them, they're invited to my wedding next year, and im the godparent of one of their children. They're like extra family members to me and as a kid I looked up to them so much. I know you're going to be great at your job, just with your mindset/attitude and previous work with children. I hope you change the lives of so many children!

I'm in pediatrics and we LOVE LOVE LOVE our child life specialists! They are such an important part of our team and really make kids' hospitalizations less stressful. I think you'll make a wonderful child life specialist and I think that would be a great video idea to really go in depth about what it is and why we need them!!

GIRL I FEEL you with rush!!! It's a thing, where I'm grateful this is being taken seriously, and our health is the number one priority, however, I am really upset about it. I'm director of primary recruitment for my sorority, so i spent MONTHS planning, and now it feels my hard work has gone to waste (we are doing fully virtual on my campus). I really agree with you, not sharing stuff when you don’t even know all the information yourself. For me, with my mental health struggles, I try to share my experiences with it but it’s just awkward or get called out by my parents. They are supportive but not with me trying to share my mental health over social media. I struggle with anxiety and depression, sometimes

I get the struggle with working out and eating healthily - I'm a D1 athlete, and let me tell you the motivation is lacking sometimes!! Honestly, the best advice I could give you is to remove the attachment between appearance and exercise. You'll only be able to maintain working out long-term if you enjoy it, and that is really challenging if the focus is just on toning up. I hope that makes sense? When you have the motivation, try out a new workout you've never done before and judge if you want to try it again (biking, running, HIIT, walking, bodyweight strength, etc etc). Eating better will follow naturally
for health & fitness, the chloe ting workouts are super helpful and actually work!!
Lauren, maybe you can get on health insurance from Alabama? I know in my state as a full time student you need health insurance. I would see if there is a plan through UA that you could get on for the future when you feel comfy getting the surgery!

I film on my phone for all my videos. I used to post on a regular basis, like daily. Until like a week ago. Life got stressful for me. I have a few car videos. “In the Car” playlist. I put my phone on my dashboard or my radio dashboard, whatever you call that.
Hi Lauren! I also got long but thin hair. So for that reason I don't dare to colour it too. But a year ago I decided to get sewn in hair extensions and I'm so happy with it! She normally does 3 bands on girls, but since I didn't want any extra length, just 'extra hair' i got 2 bands and it makes such a difference - but still so subtle. My ponytail tripled in thickness, but nobody noticed it, until I told it myself :-).
And btw - your channel got me hooked these last months - because this sorority thing is so American to me. I'm in a student union here, but it's boys and girls mixed, not with a house and all the fancy things, but it does have the parties, the friends/family for life...

My favorite Disney movie is Tangled also! Dallas, TX has a restaurant called Magic Time Machine and all the servers are characters from Disney, Pixar, etc. I used to work there and I was Rapunzel. 🙂
