@@BenjaMage Just a recommendation for a future video. I once wanted an obscure DS game called Avalon Code, which was about using a book to alter the properties of everything in the world. When I finally played it, though, that very selling point killed any enjoyment I could’ve had.
I probably could’ve waited until your next video to suggest this, but I was suddenly reminded of Avalon Code of, by all things, the health bar in the DS version of Eragon; specifically, the background symbol showing just how far the bar could potentially go. Look up a screenshot of Avalon Code and you should see what I mean.

The GBA version includes tons more elements from the books as you get further in, such as Teirm, Dras-Leona, the cult, the Twins, Jeod, etc. Oddly enough, it's probably the most faithful adaptation of the books that we've gotten so far; even if it still has a lot of differences, it includes way more book content than either the movie or the other games. It's a solid game, too, not a masterpiece but decently fun, so I wish it had gotten more attention from the fanbase than just being one of several almost-forgotten spin-off games for the lackluster movie.

I played the DS version in a DSi, and it was (at least at that time when I didn't have a PC) the most impressive game I had played.
The combat was simple enough that a little boy like me could control it well. Also, the fact that weapons leveled up with each kill had me farming for hours and hours.
I didn't read the books nor watched the movie, but the weird mummy-like monsters were really, REALLY a challenge for me at that time. The combat felt tense and I really enjoyed it.
As for the herb spell... I never really thought about it too much, lol. You do use magic later in the game, helping you with enemies and some other stuff, and because it needs to be used with the touch pad, it's equally kinda immersive and stressing. With that being said, I loved the game when I was a kid, I should play it again later.

Did you know there's even a Leroy Jenkins reference? (For some reason)

Months after this video, with you saying how the movie doesn't connect with the books that well, I think NOW is the time for a new film adaptation of the series to be done right, thanks to what I've scene of the new Dune movie comparing it to its cheesy 1983 adaptation, which to me wasn't that good, which the new dune was WAY better and I have a feeling it connected with the books better..cant confirm that but I wouldn't be surprised if I found out later it did better at conveying the souce material then the 1983 version ever did, and the fact that both the new dune, AND the new Spiderman Across the spideverse, is being done in multiple parts, plus the MCUs inspiring ways of making there movies, especially if they are two partners like infinity war and end game, etc. I think it's time to get started on making the series, and this time, STICKING to it's source material, like MCU, MCU films compared to other superheroe movies was more on point in it's adaptations of each superheros with some liberties here and there.

You think those Eragon PS2 cutscenes were weird?
Look up the race intro sequences for Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012.
    They're acid trips.

I actually saw the movie due to the liking books and I thought the movie was okay at best, and at the least the game was better then Lair though not as good as Drakengard 1, 2, and 3.

I actually grew up playing the DS Version of Eragon and never beat it. After this I busted my way through the game in one sitting. It was fine, but I’m hoping to find a GBA copy.

I actually played a bit of the Percy Jackson & The Olympians The Lighting Thief game on DS. It, too, is an RPG. Though, with map sections instead of a standard overworld. How did I play a bit of it? Think I was lent someone's DS back in days of yore.
Either way, I must say, I never thought I'd see a video on something like this. Young me did not care at all about Eragon (probably was too young to appreciate it and other books of a similar caliber) but I am genuinely curious about the GBA version now. Probably won't play it but who knows?

Didn't cover the Java phone version. 0/10. To be serious tho I have a soft spot for fantasy like Eragon, including the games, and even the movie to an extent as a guilty pleasure. Christopher Paolini's story is really inspiring to someone like me, as I'm writing my own fantasy series currently. Console version can be fun to just speedrun since you barely have to fight the enemies, and you can just exploit the AI really easily with magic. The final level with the theme blairing is surprisingly epic, like the closest thing to an anime moment lmao the soundtrack is pretty pleasant also since the behind the scenes showed you the orchestra that played it. The DS version is probably my personal favourite since the visuals bring me back to early RPGs, and it plays akin to a more traditional Zelda game. The movement speed can be agonizing given the size of the environments, and the side-quests they have you do though. I wish they implemented a run button. You might be interested to know the 360 version has exclusive levels similar to the Cars movie game on the system: a couple ground stages, and I believe an extra dragon-riding level. You can even unlock a survival mode set in Galbatorix's throne room where you fight off rounds of enemies. I just love these bizarre, forgotten movie tie-in games. You should check out the Guardians of Ga'hoole one when you get the chance.

For a movie tie-in game set in a Fantasy setting, I was not expecting Devil May Cry to be an inspiration.
Maybe Eragon on Consoles was inspired by DMC2?
    Both games are bad.

That meter thingy in the game boy reminds me of the meter thingy in my favorite Xbox 360 game Blue dragon boy blue dragon you have to put it in a certain position or else your character would a magic spell is going to go in the wrong position which is not really bad it's just they're going to go at this time instead of the time the game wants you to hit nothing too major like nothing bad happens it's just your character is going at this time it's not this one

Actually, there are a few psp games that have the same text issues as the PSP version. Idk how often it happens, but it happens to me specifically in the psp BlazBlue games (which, if you havent heard of it, really good fighting game series made by the guilty gear/dragon ball fighterz/persona 4 arena devs)
