If Don Mattingly never hurt his back, were talking .320 - .355 30HR 100+RBI 40 - 50 doubles and strike out less than 50 times EVERY SINGLE YEAR, which is far more meaningful production & consistency than Trout.
If Mike Trout is the “LeBron James of baseball” then Barry Bonds is the Michael Jordan. However in my opinion Trout is way better at baseball than LeBron is at basketball. LeBron has had so many things changed for him in the rule book, so many things ignored about his clumsy on court play, and so many things that the stats don’t tell you about like the fact that 90% of this rebounds are of the easiest variety - defensive ones with no other player within 20 feet of him. There’s so much more about LeBron it would take until tomorrow. Trout didn’t have to have anything changed for him to be great. He just is. Bonds is still the GOAT but Trout is in the top 5 all time maybe 2nd. Although Ohtani might end up being the GOAT of baseball when he’s done.
I know this is going to get a lot of negative responses, but one of the reasons that Ohtani is leading league in home runs is because they have to pitch to him because Trout bats behind him. Bring on your negative comments.
Sadly he won’t win a World Series with the angels, just won’t happen. Sorry but they got the Astros and the mariners in their division and they’re no where near those teams.
