I just bought a 2020 used one for 14K and 28 thousand miles. It looks brand new. I will install a level 2 charger in the house. But there's an EVgo station 3 minutes from my house. So far, I love it.
I'm into the 5th year of owning my beloved 2019 Premier. (Have owned it since brand new.) Wouldn't trade it for a Rolls Royce. My hat's off to GM for creating this masterpiece!
Almost a year with my used 2020 Bolt, and I couldn't be any happier. My cousin told me that she likes it more than her daughter's Tesla model 3. In all fairness, Tesla is at a whole different level. But I will dare to say that the Chevy Bolt is a Tesla without all the bells and whistles. The very first thing that impressed me about the Bolt is how smooth it drives for such a compact vehicle. It feels like a cloud.
Just got our leased 2022 Premier, love it. The performance and tech is spot on. The Super Cruise is amazing and the Regen paddle really makes it easy to stop without wearing on the brakes. Can't wait to try and extend beyond the 279 miles max out one charge range of it.
I just got a 2020 Bolt that replaced my 2013 Ford Focus Electric! The Bolt is awesome with true one peddle driving in low or paddle regen in drive! I already got saved by the crash braking as someone stopped just around a corner and the cross path makes backing out of my drive way safer! The end of year discounts are huge now!
I test drove one of these and if I had a garage, I would buy one. I'm surprised that it doesn't sell more, especially since most dealers are taking off at least $10K off the sticker.
Leased a 2017 ride share for 130,000 miles. Not a problem unlike some others like Tesla. Now leasing 2020 better in some ways that count than the 2020. Had Twin Sequential Turbo RX-7. Do not miss it. Love surge driving with L mode. I get 375 miles of range (430 in low) with 120 volt charging and regenerative braking down a 6,000 foot mountain.
@@alexsafayan7684 there is an app that you plug in your route. It puts in where you would need to charge and how long it would take. I figure it adds about 25% of time on a long road trip. So a gas car would be faster and it would get better gas mileage. It costs about the same for electricity or gas on a long trip. So in my case we have a second car with gas we take on long trips. But it could be done.
@@alexsafayan7684 I just measured a route across the state and back and it was the same because you have to pay for charging. If you can stay at places that have them for free then yes. Much cheaper.
I have a 2020 Bolt. This is a very good explanation of its charging features. I had the Level 2 charger installed a couple of weeks ago and am happy with it.
Awesome comprehensive video on the next car I'll be purchasing 👍 RUclips, not sure... could you maybe squeeze one more ad??? I don't think you threw quite enough in.
I just wish that GM could manage to design a car (with the same range) that wasn’t ugly. The Bolt looks like a mish-mash of different vehicles that have been squished into something that looks like it is not finished. As if the “designers” were given the task of coming up with a car that nobody would want. It reminds me of that Simpson’s episode where Homer was hired as an automobile design consultant. He had no idea what he was doing… and it showed. Come on GM. You must be capable of designing an appealing EV. If you are pinning all of your future EV ambitions on the Bolt, a Hummer and a Cadillac… well, Good Luck! Oh, before I forget - this video was well done. Cheers.
Great video! However hope you will take some constructive criticism. You say road trips are possible since now 2020 Bolt has 259 miles. It's true for road trips, but it's misleading that you can expect 259 miles which is the EPA estimate based on mixed driving. While in the city stop and go you can get even more than the EPA range, on the highway with 90% of charge driving at the highway speed limit you can expect about 200-210 miles. Realistically should be base on max 90% since its safe to plan to arrive with 10% or more. No one should plan to arrive at nearly 0% state of charge. Also in specifications, you need to update the battery usable energy which now in 2020 Bolt EV is 66kWh up from 60kWh in previous years models.
Slow down to a reasonable speed (65) and watch the mile range get better. Other factions include wind speed, outside temp, road incline, and use of climate controls. These factors, when they can be managed, will get you more bang for your electronic buck, too.
Linus as much as you want and it will not affect the battery. The bolt has an active thermal management system to protect the battery from getting too hot - 6:30
@@linusa2996 There's a guy in Canada who has over 200,000 miles on his, so he probably does a lot of fast charging. He says his battery has degraded about 7%.
heads up, you'll get max 15 miles using the 110 charger they give you, unless you want to prime your electricity use with your electric company and charge it from 5pm to 7am. That is about .25 a MILE where I live. And by the way, the app in the car is totally UNintuitive. and you will NEVER get the 259 miles from one charge.
You know, I'm sold with the exception infrastructure. It's a two edged deal...if we don't buy them they won't accommodate them. But here's the worse part for me: Being a victim of other electronics, there's too much room for making things "obsolete" too soon. Proprietary software, not backward compatible. The phrase "we don't support that anymore" is far too common too soon with phones, cameras and other devices.
The gas does not evaporate from your tank when it's not connected to a gas pump; neither does the energy in a battery vanish when it's not plugged in. A gas pump doesn't dispense fuel when the power goes down; neither does a charger. This changes nothing in that regard.
See description for specs

Update ? You still like it ?
My 2020 Bolt is the best car I've ever owned and I've had some very nice cars and I know cars right down to gears and transistors.
I love my Bolt! Tiny outside, huge inside, fun to drive, cheap to lease, and cleaner than a dino burner. Also, I may have a crush on Dalya now. :-)

Still luv'n the instant torque of my Bolt. Do people actually understand how outdated ICE cars are?
So few views. I test drove a bolt ev a few days ago. Suspension is budget, but if I can work a deal I am going to get one for the convenience factor.
How much does it cost to have the ability to remotely turn on the Bolts AC or Heat from your smartphone?

Great until the power grid goes down because of severe weather, excessive reliance on wind turbines and or solar, and unforeseen overload on grid.

This video talks a lot about what you can do. Very little about how to do it. That's what I thought a tutorial is all about.
Why would I need to hire an electrician to install a 220v outlet? Buy a simple book from Home Depot. You put it on a dedicated circuit
I installed mine but not everyone is handy that way.
Why repeating segments? The Title does not match the content. Thumbs down
like electricity is cheap.
I'm paying 5 cents per kilowatt hr.
I have solar panels, so it's practically a free charge every time.
