(14:00) I love how it left behind a glowing *galaxy* ...how fitting LOL! Maybe try LEDs with fluid, or UV LEDs with neon-dyed water in your next rocket? :D
Take two separate blobs of proto putty and then mix the first of the two ingredients for glow fluid in one of the blobs and the second in the other. Then mix the two proto putties together and see what happens
Hello brother this is Karthik.... I would like to request you to try mixing glow sticks liquid with liquid nitrogen n let's see if it still withstand it's properties...... I just gave a taught...... If possible please try .😀 All the best
@Boi Boi, you defintely can get PVC pipes in England. Probably just called Plastic pipes in most places but you can 100% get it in most stores, pretty sure B&Q sells it or homebase. If not theres plenty of websites that sell them based in Uk and Amazon sells them, just not on prime.
I made one of the these a few years ago and am currently working on a bigger version which has three presser chambers. I've been struggling on the release mechanism, but thanks to you I have some new ideas to try.
HEY GRANT I want to know if you could try to vacuum seal Proto-Putty in any kind of packaging to keep it from drying out so that you could take it with you.
2 years ago you made a vid on how to make a rocket launcher can you make another but upgraded with a scope and stuff like that and can shoot the bigger bottles
I have 5 of these in my garage, made them when I was a Boy Scout and it was only two weeks ago I was showing them off to my son’s scout troop. Mine don’t have zip tie “launch control” and use a shorter length for the bottle to slide over. Yours may have a “launch tower” kind of effect bc of that longer piece. Gunna have to experiment and bring out the new version next time.
Just an idea because it is Halloween month. You guys should do some experiments with pumpkins. Like putting the glow stick mixture in it. SMASHING THEM! Putting one in the vacuum chamber. Dropping them from high heights. And other "Random" things you guys can come up with. And this video should feature the whole crew. @TheKingOfRandom
It's like a paper cup if you throw a paper cup up the wind will cause it to mess up its trajectory but if you put a nail in the middle it would make it more heavier so the wind can t toss it around
No. The density of the helium is less than that of air, therefore requiring a greater amount of helium. Because of this, the final weights are the same.
Needs a better seal for more pressure. You should figure out what the maximum pressure you can put into one of your bottles, and try to work a seal design around that. The zip tie locking solution is simple but I looks like it may fail over repeated use and at higher pressures, as the zip ties become less elastic with use (the ones being used as springs) and won't hold the device as tightly in place. This may be a fun project for the future, just to modify and mess around with other systems.
Hey to cancel out the flipping of the bottle meals the bottle heavier at the top than the bottom so the top should be a little bit heavier so it can make the rocket go straight up
a couple of possible improvments that could be made is when your making it hot glue gun bottle necks around the bottom of the bottle so you can load the liquid after it is on the firing mechanisim and you dont have as much spillage due to loading it
Easy adjustment is to heat up the PVC with a birthday candle to make a bulge that the soda bottle will push against to keep the water and pressure in. Our Cub Scout pack uses 2 1/2 cups of water and 70# pressure. We also have a 6 station launching unit that uses an air compressor. The glow stream is awesome!!! Thanks for sharing.
When I was young during the early 1960s, I had a hand held water rocket that flew really well . The rocket was 7 or 8 inches tall and maaybe 1.5 inches in diameter. I used to experament a lot with different amounts of water to see what made the rocket go the highest. LOTS of fun, but I would have been amazed to see this size of unit!!!
The best psi is around 50-60. You can also make the cone hinged with string or a 3D printed part so you can deploy a parachute. As the rocket flies up the air pressure will hold the cone on but when it reaches the apex of its flight the cone will fall off and the parachute will deploy.
Rather than building a base for it, use a cork with a needle used for inflating balls. Place fins on it so the bottle sits high enough off the ground, fill it a third with water, and inflate until the cork pops out.
If you fill the cone with sand, it will fly higher. My friend and I used to do this stuff, and it definitely makes a huge difference. It turns a thirty feet of flight into a couple hundred feet or more depending on pressure. We used about 60 to 80 psi
I had a nostalgia trip with this build! My cousins and I used to do this all summer but we just used a bike pump and made a few adapters with small plastic funnels from home depot and A LOT of electrical tape! Fill bottle with water, plug the hole with the electrical tape, pump with a bike pump and as pressure builds... BLAST OFF!
There is a better way to do this, take a Schrader valve and put that into the bottom of the bottle. Then drill a hole in the cap wide enough to get some plastic tubing into it. Cut off about 2 inches of the hose and seal off one side by heating it and pinching with some pliers. Then stick the open end of the hose into the cap. Fill the bottle 1/4 with water and pressurize to 60 psi. Then cut off the sealed end of the bottle to launch. For a stand take a metal rod from a lawn sign and put it in a straw taped to the side of the bottle
Try to react calcium carbide and water in a bottle and then ignite the gas which will evolve. Then make a hole in cap and attach a pipe and then attach a syringe at the end and then use it as a welding machine.
The pattern on the grass at the end looked a little bit like the shape of a galaxy. Galaxies have different shapes. Making this rocket launcher would have been much too complicated for most people at home, I think.
Nate, try using carbonated water instead of just tap water. Maybe the CO2 will give the rocket some extra power. Very cool project. Next project, Solar Scorcher vs. Ice Diamond Play Button.
Hey guys, great video. Love the glow component. We will try that with our troop. A couple of suggestions: For a more permanent solution to the electrical tape ring. You can use a candle to melt the pipe at the point where the bottle stops. When it's warm compress the pipe a little bit to create a compression fitting. The natural flare from the compression will keep the water seal. Otherwise, the electrical tape has to be replaced every so often. Second is if you use propane instead of air you will get more propulsion. Propane compresses better than air.
I only came here for the stand but I have to say that rocket was hilariously sad. I just did a science project where we had to make our own bottle rocket no stand and launch it at school. It had to go at least 100 feet. Mine went 400. This rocket was sad.
made one of these in high school. i wanted to make a two stage water rocket for a physics project. it worked at home, but when i went to show it off to my class, it exploded on the launch pad when it got pressurized. I never laughed so hard in my whole life.

Can you try to put water into a vacuum chamber chamber, then freeze it. I want to know if the ice will be transparent or not
Bringing very well filtered water to a boil two times will result in very clear ice cubes.
the water will boil before all the air is removed from the vacuum chamber
Not necessarily; if the heat can be removed quickly enough, the water will not evaporate, but it may still boil off a little bit.
No it will help a little but not really
Even if it's freezed in a vacuum chamber?

How about making spring boots ... uknow like the pogo stick works but... with the boots
You mean like moon boots from the 80's and 90's?
put gallium in the vaccum chamber. Try other types of molten metals aswell
You should put the 'fins' at a bit of an angle, so that the bottle spins, it should be more stable in the air and fly more verticaly
Boil pvc glue or this glowing fluid
REALLY, NO NEED SO MUCH PVC PIPE. I ALSO DID IT BUT THIS IS SO MUCH DIFFICULT TO MAKE
LOL
If you fill a bottle with a enough helium will it float?
Lava Lit 2000 No. Not enough space to hold enough pressure to lift it
If you can find a bottle large and light enough.
Then it wouldn't be a bottle... duh...
No. The density of the helium is less than that of air, therefore requiring a greater amount of helium. Because of this, the final weights are the same.
No, and if you put any more helium than then you need to displace the air it will just make it heavier again.
At 13:59 the pattern almost reminds you of a spiral galaxy. This video was awesome!
Just a quick thought. Can you make yourself magnetic?
Isn't that glowstick stuff toxic?
Yes I think
not really. You shouldn't drink it but it's not going to poison the field or anything.
Are you sponsored by zip tie?
bobcat 101 or pvc brand
This video is sponsored by sponsor.
And Duct Tape 🤣
maybe hot glue
bobcat 101 or a soda brand, so People drink soda.
Can you make a cola fountain and Drink it ?
Put a gasket near the bottom where the neck of the bottle is. Also try using the hydro generator and adding some sort ignition.

I don't really feel like there's that much force in that reaction.
Yeah its only. Co2 coming out at a very fast rate. But not fast enough for a explosion
But more than just with water and air, if the seal is tighter.
