It’s common for moviemakers not to have a clue on what the comics or books contain. They established the cub at the end of the original movie to be a girl named Kiara. And there was no mention of siblings for Kiara. So it was pretty clear that Kopa did not exist in the movie continuity. With Lion Guard, many years later, the series made a retcon that Kiara DID have a sibling. A younger brother named Kion. But not Kopa. And based on the differences between Kion and Kopa, it’s not likely that they were meant to be the same character. Once again, Kopa does not exist in the animated series continuity. Now there are so many fan theories about Kopa as you can see in the comments section about what happened to him. Which is all speculation and fanon. Officially, Kopa never actually existed .
