    Lovecraft's "Whisperer in the Darkness" was published about 1927, potentially inspired by the 1927 VT floods as well as probably NE Ghost Stories he heard during his trip through SE NH, SW VT and Central MA that year. He mentions in a letter to a friend that year of having collected a bunch of legends and ideas for stories from that trip. While the Bennington Triangle may not have been part of his inspirations (unknown), it is part of a whole set of NE folklore that inspired him.

    In my long life, I've hunted most of the great 'natural wildernesses' of North America...primordial places where few have gone, giant places beyond most city-folk's mindsets can imagine...from the Denali range, the Rockies, the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and even smaller wildernesses like Northern Maine...and it really doesn't take much to put 'experienced woodsmen' in jeopardy...a sprain, a broken ankle, a bad moment with a cougar or lynx...even a hungry bear or rabid coyote...add in the most unpredictable animal on earth (mankind) who finds sport on preying on unsuspecting people...and I'm VERY surprised events like this don't happen a WHOLE LOT MORE than they do. I can say one thing, while I feel much safer along the Yukon river than I do in Chicago, I also understand...given the opportunity, the residents in EITHER PLACE have no major quarrel with ending your life quickly, if it benefits them significantly...and that's just a fact.

      true but disappearances that defy all factored in explanations are TOO numerous. David Paulides: Missing 411...worth checking out on youtube

      also Vermont does NOT have disappearance clusters except in that specific spot despite millions of square miles of absolute wilderness that are recreationally traversed by isolated hikers/hunters. Homo Sapiens Cognatus is in Vermont. I've interacted with them...I know...sounds nuts but this has been filtered through much of my own scientific skepticism. Visual face to face contact and much more proved the existence of their numbers to me.

      Makes one wonder if we have Nazi underground tunnels inside America. This is how they functioned before and with the tactics they used are very clear today within the msm. The web in which it's weaved is dark and cunning and I'm seeing very cunning things take place inside the Democrat party and some inside the Republican party as well. The outrageous growth of eugenics in a way that is unethical and down right wrong is also the Nazi dream of creating a master race. So if they can use a master race they could use those they don't want for the breakdown of society with chaos to gain control and order as well. Agenda21 clearly is am attack by govt gaining federal control over individual property rights and it obviously attacks rural land owners. They want us off the land and hunters are the target. They could grab you and be gone in a blink of an eye and while they got you They could begin doing the expierments without fear of being caught. Since when did men get their penises cut off and turned inside out without anyone knowing about this? This is not an overnight thing. They did experiments and you and I know that failed multiple times and what happened to those people? Nothing heard not one thing. I believe we got a problem and it's underneath us and we are in trouble. They want to social program us to think it's a big foot and that is just insane.

    This is a great 2 part mini-movie. I live in the area! I am a member of The Paranormal Research Society of Bennington, VT. I know our team would definitely be interested in doing some investigation of the Triangle and other areas for you and we also have great investigators who strictly do client/family research also. Would like to hear back from you! Maybe we can find what you are looking for!! And make one hell of a movie!!

    Apparently people need to be made aware of the dangers that could occur. The boy should have never felt so comfortable to just walk out there without an adult. I think there is a lot that we do not know or want to acknowledge that is out there.

    If you read Paulides’ books, there is always a hideous rainstorm after a lot of these disappearances.

    • @skeetersaurus6249
      @skeetersaurus6249 4 года назад

      I've read ALL of Paulides' books...and saw both movies. In watching the movies backwards (411 Hunters then 411), I finally saw the only answer that would resolve his efforts...that he would NEVER declare outright...too much future employment for him in 'staying open' (and preventing lawsuits in the process)...but it is the ONLY theory that fits ALL THE POINTS together in a single reasonable story. It also justifies why you will NEVER BE TOLD THE TRUTH...because it has NOTHING to do with 'aliens' or 'paranormal', and has a lot to do with some of the worst biology on the planet you could imagine...and if it were told, IT WOULD destroy the economy overnight...

    I just spent three nights camping at Grout Pond in the Green Mountain National Forest, from July 11th to July 13th. On the night of July 12th at 2:30 am I was awoken by a loud whooping call, unlike anything I have ever heard before. It was coming from a nearby hilltop and reverberated through the forest. The call was repeated five times. I crossed referenced the call with local wildlife but found no correlation to any animal in the area. I say it was a Sasquatch.

      oh damn..........ive heard it too. WOOP WOOP........... i was walking in pitch black around midnight in MA when i heard this sound from the woods near me..... second time i heard it put me in a strong jogging pace.... not until i got home did i find online a sound like i had heard... it was a BIGFOOT site. im a believer.

    Actually i believe the mountain mentioned in HP Lovecraft's book is based off of the mountain in Australia. Something there too, people disappear, ufos seen, the landscape changes all by itself, ect ect. I believe the name is something like Black mountain, or Kalkajaka.

    People might find it shocking when a lost person's body is found in an area that has been found in an area that is considered to have been "thoroughly searched" or has been gone over multiple times. Having spent a lot of time in the woods I am not surprised very often. Vermont, with its fir trees, tangles of brush and other greenery, is absolutely a lush paradise during the summer. You'd never know that though if you look at a picture of wintertime Vermont when it's brown and barren or snow covered. Someone who goes under a fir tree for protection or to hide has done well for themselves. A body hidden under such a tree during winter will freeze and stay hidden until thawed in spring. I notice that half of these disappances took place in cold weather. Since the area was logged out over the years, I have to wonder what other flora were growing in the area. My guess is that there were a number of areas where wild berries or other thorny plants grew in pretty thickly and they might have been avoided since nobody was equipped to handle that kind of stuff other than to stomp or tear down what they could. My overall point is that "thorough" is sometimes not quite as thorough as we imagine it to be for a variety of reasons.
