I echo the congratulations to both Ben and Ellie! Ellie for finishing with a PB, Ben for staying healthy and positioning himself for a great result in the upcoming marathon. Videos like this inspire!
Well done to both you and Ellie!! Awesome job Ellie! You guys are inspiring for sure! I'm buzzing on a PB Parkrun this morning of 39.18. 50-54 age group. 10th parkrun today. A very colourful and enjoyable video today Ben.
Dunno about fun run, he exhausted himself to the point he thought he was "going to die" twice, and had to stop! Running a 1:03 with two stops is pretty insane though, no less for his first half, right after another race
@@jasper1376 While my remark was somewhat tongue in cheek, think about it for a moment. This guy ran a Diamond League (world class) 1500 then his agent calls the race director and says "got room for Jacob tomorrow?". Sets a 10k road record on his first go at it, has a little walk and runs a 33 min 11k final bit, and says I thought "I was gonna die". Which is how i feel every time I do a fun run for 21k, in twice the time. I'm surprised he didn't drink a beer while he was doing it. He's probably still laughing.
@@michaelhatch1994 You are comparing yourself to an elite runner and calling it crazy. He didn't even finish in the top 30. Beating the Norwegian record in the 10K doesn't mean much. 5 runners beat that record that day. 4 of them continued an ran a 58 minute half marathon.
Fantastic edit this Ben, must have taken many cups of coffee this one😅 proud to be there supporting Ellie and you, now we understand the magic of Copenhagen, such a beautiful city to explore.. and what an event to spectate, especially on the bridge at 18k point, absolutely mad atmosphere.. love it
The local coffee shop saw plenty of me across the 3 days it took to put together put it that way :) I was looking forward to the 18k point from the very start having raced it a few years back. Incredible atmosphere
well done ben. what a wonderful video of the whole weekend at Copenhagen. Ellie smahed it and i loved your dad at the end collaping like he was so tired.
Congratulations Ben and Ellie you both smashed it out of the park, and well done Ben for being so controlled while feeling so good and well done Ellie getting your PB. Fantastic Vlog Ben, thanks for putting it together. 💥🏃♀🏃♂
Great video Ben seemed like a fun event; you showed the race day vibe, and good to know having a beer the night before is ok. Glad your sister ran a PB
Congratulations Ben & Ellie (well done on your PB), great video, so inspiring - mom & dad 🫶🏾 lovely family . I'm glad you not feeling any pain on hip , all the best Ben.
So happy for you man. Glad you took your rest seriously and did a proper recovery! KEEP IT UP! P.S. I'm really jelly you had a chance to meet Jakob LOL
Oh, I have to do Copenhagen Half-Marathon some time! Maybe next year? 🤔 Copenhagen looks like such a lovely city and reminds me of Prague quite a lot, actually! And of course, congratulations on your time! Great race and good luck in Berlin!
Hi Ben, great video as always. Great efforts from you and your sister. I just wanted to ask i know this wasnt a full send for you as you are saving yourself for the marahton, with regards to your nutrition prior to the race, weatherspoons full english and a beer the night before, does this have much of an effect on race day performance for someone at your level? Thanks Andy.
Nice video ben 👍 can i ask why u take a caffeine jell so late? As the caffeine will take between 30-45 minutes to take effect in the blood stream, youll literally be finished by time it would have any effect?
I take it at around 40 mins (think 38mins in cph to be specific) in so I personally feel it gives me a good kick for the final 3rd. Even if its more of a placebo. Maurten gels are designed to be absorbed much faster than regular gels so personally feel the benefit 15mins after consumption
Peak might be 45 minutes but some absorption will take place instantly if held in your mouth, especially under your tongue. Some sources say 3-15 minutes to notice it.
@fenderOCG Maurten say peak is achieved within 60 mins, but yer you should see some absorption in 20 mins or so. Kinda still feels a little late to take at 40mins in a 70 min race.
I've ran 100+ miles in this model so risked a new pair for race day knowing they fit and feel good ect. Wouldn't reccomend it though as can be a risky move
This pain of the Handshake 😂 12:17
OMG
Jakob left him hanging...🤣
Felt it in my bones haha
💀💀💀
Yikes, who knew ghoasting was a part of his training routine!
I think its nuts his comfortable/ talking pace is a 35 minute 10k.... Amazing.
Same here, but with 5K! 😅 Sometimes…
Fantastic event, came in 20 min behind you and my effort was max!! I am bit older though at 65.
Good running!
1:27 at 65 years old is ridiculous mate!
Well-done
Respect!
we came to the finish at the same time!
Great run Ben I just started running a few months ago and recently destroyed my 5k Pb by 4:30 I love your videos they inspire me to do better!!
Good to see the Feltons out in force. Big shout out to the QOZ! Great blog as ever Ben; 108k subs is such an achievement!
The Queen of Jazzercise indeed, next year i heard she's doing it :) Thank you SIFI!

Agreed what a run by ellie espescially for a pb!
The energy in this video makes me want to go out for a run, but it's dark and 8pm. haaaa. Can't wait to see the Berlin result you are on fab form!

Indeed, she needs a lesson in audience retention though ahah :)
Man, you and Ellie really did well. I'm jealous. I just started running so this is super inspiring. Congrats.
Love to hear it! Enjoy the beginners gains :)
Anyone (Ingebrigtsen) who can do a fun run at 1:03 and set a national record while he does it is pretty special.
Crazy!
I don't think he had much fun.

Yacob Kiplimo (2:42) had me cracking up for some reason - when in Scandinavia I guess
Mate I really cringed when he said that 😩😂😂😂

Great video....Safety pins ..?? Have you tried the magnet type attachment pin things...?? They are great...👍👍
I have yes but always seem to misplace mine so the old saftey pins get a good use :)

nice one. It was a very fun race indeed.. as always :)
CPH half must be one of the best in world both for pros and casual runner. Fast paced course, good organization and beautiful city
Couldn't agree more!

already going to be a great video
Hope you enjoyed it!
Awesome event and great video!
Great run, keep it up.
Thanks, will do!
The clip of Jakob walking made him finally seem mortal.
Human after all and then casually jogs a 32minute 10k to finish it off
Yes ben

Yes it certainly does, before a goal race I'm much more dialled in :)
Even spotted the Stoke City kit wearing runner !
Great video Ben🤘🏼🤘🏼…
To confirm 27:50 did that chap just run a 1:13min half with a double buggy?
Im not sure but looks that way :)

I may be wrong but the caffeine from the gel takes roughly 45 mins to take effect, so taking it 40 mins into a 70 min race might not see any effect
My morning coffee takes roughly 1 mins to take effect
I think it is more like 20 minutes, but still borderline useless if that is the case.

Half life of caffeine is 5 hours. So why bother taking caffeine during a race when you can take it before?
the missed handshake 12:15
I can't believe you can run that fast while filming and talking at the same time. Is that your zone 2? 😄
