Thank you - I had a LF error and replaced the part and so far ( fingers crossed ) we are ok. Saved 1000.00 if it holds Even if it is something else, I enjoyed doing this ;=)
Thanks! This fixed my Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300. Fortunately, my new valve came this a new wiring harness, as my old one was wire wrapped to the solenoids. (They looked like connectors, but hard wired under the plastic.) One criticism: you make it look easy to pop open the front with a putty knife. It took considerably more effort to open mine. You showed me how, but it was the most difficult part of the job.
Same issue with Maytag Bravos washer filling too fast and overshooting the bleach dispenser and detergent dispenser and leaking outside the drum and on to the floor. While waiting for valve to arrive, turned down the pressure on the valves and that worked till part arrived. This fixed the leak issue and this video was perfect. Not hard at all. Hard to make a mistake if you watch this video.
+Stephanie Thorpe A faulty water inlet valve is one possible cause of a washing machine not filling with water. For more model-specific troubleshooting and repair help information, enter your model number in our website's repair help: www.repairclinic.com/repairhelp?TLSID=1773.
Perfect Instructions! Thanks. On my second replacement in 10 years. Don't forget to use hose filter washers at a minimum (wall faucet side) the built in screens will clog faster with nothing. then you will be tempted to just remove the built in screen or it falls out... then it fails a year or so later most likely to dirt/sediment.
So you've waited six years did the guy help you yet or are you just sitting there with the same clothes RUclips super uncool they just don't help it's really sad
I managed to ruin the threads on my valve when trying to replace a leaking hose. The dealer tells me I need a whole new assembly at a cost of $100. The valve for my Whirlpool Cabrio is a W10364988. Is replacement of this model pretty much the same? Say yes.
Jim Knapp Yes. The procedure will be very similar. You might encounter an extra clip or screw here and there, but it will be close to this. www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Water-Inlet-Valve/W10364988/1862767?TSLID=1773
Jim Knapp When I got the new part I thought I was in trouble. It was considerably different than the original part and came with a new wiring harness which complicated the job for me. The color coding was no longer available. I was afraid that sparks would fly when I plugged the washer in and hit start. However, it worked like a charm. Thank for saving me from a repairman bill. I couldn't have done it without this video.
hi, my cabrio washer i had changed the stator, after that when it is in filler mode there is a loud screaching noise as it fills, and then goes away, only on the filling stage does this happen. what can be the problem. thanks for you help joe
hi..this looks so easy when you explain it. would this be the reason that my water won't fill the drum? It starts then it stops..i changed to hoses and cleaned around the rust and i think maybe i pushed debris into the opening..any thoughts would be appreciated.
Remember to use a really good tape to hold the lid in place - it's counterbalanced to hold it upright when in the normal position - and it packs a wallop if it comes loose, lemme tell ya!
13 years later and this video is still helping people like me with DIY. Thank you for making it so clear and simple

@@MISSINGYEARS 😂 theres other sources where you can find help, I decide to just purchase a new washer
In the video are you showing a normal washer or the HE version?
This is a normal washer.
the blue plastic piece appears to be in two halves and is spraying water at the joint. Can it be glued?
+Delford Chaffin We recommend replacement. Glue could fail and you could flood your home. Visit www.repairclinic.com?TLSID=1773 for parts.

***** Thank you. The part should be here tomorrow. I'll let you know if I'm able to pull this off without calling an appliance repairman.

Where I live there is a lot of minerals in the water. It probably clogged the valve.
My washer makes a high pitch noise when the water goes into the detergent repository but not if it fills otherwise. What could be the course?
+Thomas Swidler Perhaps the water inlet valve itself is going bad, restricted.
Thank you this was very helpful.
when I activate my whirlpool cabrio my water inlet valve hums and nothing else happens it just keeps humming
