I have been waiting quite a while for this comparison video. Thanks again, for finally getting around to react to this video. I thought that this was a great comparison. It may not have been the best comparisons when compared to some other comparisons that you have reacted to. However it is right up there with some of the best. That being said, here is my breakdown of the performances: First up Alisah Bonabra. First of all i must state that just because a singer sounds exactly like another singer does not mean that they intentionally set out to mimic that singer. There are many singers that sound exactly like other singers in terms of their tonal quality. For example in this comparison you stated that Charice sounded a bit like Whitney. This does not mean that Charice set out to mimic Whitney Houston. It could just mean that they both have similarities in certain aspects of their tone and range as well as their voice timbre. For Alisah i thought that she did an excellent job with this song. Yes, she may have sounded exactly like Beyonce in parts of the song. However, I do not think that her performances was scripted. In most cases when singers are following or singing according to a script they usually look tense, rigid and uncomfortable to the point where they are afraid to let go and express their true self. I do not think that this was the case with Alisah. On the contrary Alisah looked confident, composed and she showed that she was not afraid to display her true capabilities. It was clear that there was nothing holding her back. She gave a powerful heartfelt performance. She not only sang and hit all the right notes but she sang with a lot of emotion. In think that you were insinuating ,when you said that you saw her mom seemingly pointing her finger as a sign of her coaching Alisah to the point that her performance seemed to be too rehearsed. I disagree with this. Did you see the reaction from the judges and also the members of the viewing audience? From the first note the judges were in awe. As her performance progressed it got much better. The audience along with the judges were on their feet as Alisah sang. This was a clear indication that her performance had a profound impact on everyone. If this performance was scripted and rehearsed the judges and audience would have picked up on this quickly and it would have passed as just another ordinary performance. Therefore i gave Alisah a 10 out of 10. The Second singer Dalton Harris. I thought that Dalton Harris was outstanding. I actually loved the R&B flavor that he gave at the start of the song.He had the courage to change things up by deviating from original style of starting this well know song. He started off singing softly and his voice was very smooth and clear. However, as his performance progressed he began to open up more and command the stage. I actually enjoyed his stage presence, swag and movement on stage. He made the song his own and he sang his own version of this song. He also sang with a great amount of emotion while dominating the stage. It is very clear that this guy has excellent breath control. As was evident in how he ended the song .Dalton also has a very strong falsetto which he used to good effect at key points in throughout the song. Overall this was a well-balanced performance. Therefore because of his outstanding effort i gave Dalton Harris an 10.99 out of 10.The third singer Charice. I thought that Charice was phenomenal in every aspect of this performance. She did not set a foot wrong. She was flawless from start to finish. Her vocals and range and emotive abilities soared to new heights throughout this song. When Charice started singing her voice was really commanding to the point where i thought that i was witnessing the birth of a new Whitney Houstion. Immediately this grabbed my attention and forced me to sit up and take notice. I mean Charice sang, she emoted, and she owned and commanded the stage and basically set the stage on fire. Therefore, because she took her performance to a whole new level I also gave her an 11 out of 10.Hopefully you will see if you have not already where this is going.
The Fourth singer: Sherol. I agree that Sherol’s version was the most authentic and least rehearsed. However as you rightly said she was very nervous at the start of the song. I actually think that even though her performance got better and she sang with a great amount of emotion her voice was a bit shaky in parts throughout the entire song. This was a problem for me. The reason for this is that as a singer you have to be able to manage and control your nerves and whatever emotion you are feeling. You cannot allow for this to get in the way of your performance. This could have been due to the fact that this was her first time performing in front of a big audience. I mean i could forgive the nerves at the beginning of the song. However, i expected that as she got more into her performance that she would not allow the nerves to affect her singing. Even though she sang with a lot of passion and emotion she became more vulnerable as her performance progressed. I believe that as a singer when you are competing or singing on any big stage especially in a competition everything has to come together(the vocals, range, emotion ,stage presence) to make a truly outstanding performance. However, overall she still gave a brilliant performance and she made the song her own. Therefore, i gave Sherol a 9.5 out 0f 10.
The last singer: Melanie Omaro. I thought that Melanie did a Brilliant job. Again, you know that a performance is very good from the reaction of the crowd or viewing audience. I do not think that her performance was engineered. I would also like to add that being rehearsed is not a true indication that a performance is manufactured or scripted. Singers have to be well rehearsed before they go on these talent shows. They also have to prepare more than on song to sing just in case the judges do not like their first song selection. If you are not adequately prepared and rehearsed it can affect your performance as was the case with Sherol.I thought that both the judges and the audience members thoroughly enjoyed Melanie’s performance and were impacted by her delivery of this song. Therefore, I gave Sherol a
    9.9 out of 10.
Having said all of the above this is how I rated the performances: (1)Charice Pempengco. It is tight a battle between Charice Pempengco and Dalton Harris with Charice edging out the win by the slightest of margins.
    (2) Dalton Harris.
    (3) Alisah Bonabra.
    (4)Malanie Omaro.
    (5) Sherol.

Hey good morning Craig thanks for getting on to this so quickly. I really enjoyed your breakdown and take on it I can't disagree with you on 1&2 as it could've gone either way between Dalton and Charice they were both super incredible and I thoroughly enjoyed their take. Definitely we both was spot on about Sherol being nervous and to me that also made her performance great as a audience member I want to see someone look and act a bit nervous because it makes you see that behind the smoke and mirrors it's real people performing and they may not always have their emotions and nerves under control. So for that I really give her credit. I didn't know it was a Beyoncè song til when I was about to upload and I googled who sang it. Which makes my analysis of Alisah more on point with her sounding like her at some points. Like I said overall vocally Sherol was the weakest out of everyone but she had heart and with training and confidence she will get better

In the next comparison video, could you please do a comparison video of who sang it best between Tessane Chin singing her cover version of Many Rivers to Cross by the Great Jimmy Cliff during the Playoffs of the Voice USA Season 5 in the year 2013 versus Gary Edwards also singing his cover version of Many Rivers to Cross at the Knockout stage of the Voice in the year 2018 versus Gracie -Jayne also singing her cover version of Many Rivers to Cross at the Semifinal stage of the Voice Kids UK in the year 2019 versus Gevanni Hutton also singing his cover version of Many Rivers to Cross at the Semifinal stage of the Voice UK in the year 2020 versus Lenny Kravitz also singing his live stripped down version of Many Rivers to Cross 8 months ago? This should prove to be another exciting showstopper. Please, please check them out and react.
