I am SO glad you made this series. I'm at the beginning of my ILC journey. My DMx is on Feb 7. It will be a Goldilocks mastectomy with DIEP in 3-6 mths if no chemo or radiation are needed (fingers crossed for clear nodes and pathology finds nothing hiding!). I was glad to hear your honest discussion of your DIEP process. I had lumbar fusion surgery 2 years ago and had the same thing happen with that incision site. Because I am a hefty girl and the original sutures just weren't strong enough. Had to have a revision to clean out necrosing tissue a month after that original surgery. Your experience gives me pause on doing the DIEP. If I have a decent breast shape with Goldilocks I may forgo the reconstruction. I'm glad you are on the other side and ready to enjoy life with your sweet family.
it's a personal choice and it's something that nobody can decide but you! whatever you choose will be right for you and I support that! i'm glad you found it useful
I am so happy to have found your channel. I am scheduled for a biopsy in 2 weeks. So, nothing concrete yet, but still trying to gain an understanding of what could be. Thank you for sharing your experience. Wishing you all the best! 💗
I’m so happy for you to be at this point of feeling done with surgeries & treatments and ready to move on with life! You deserve every good day that is to come, and your videos are wonderful. I had SGAP reconstruction last week, and my first follow-up appointment with my surgeon is tomorrow. I’m feeling so grateful also, and very happy to be rid of the painful, uncomfortable tissue expanders that I had for 16 months. Best wishes to you and I hope to keep following your story, and hope that whatever medication you are on to help prevent recurrence is tolerable. (you might have said Tamoxifen; my post surgery brain is a sieve)
I’ve watched all of your journey videos and I have to say you are a true inspiration. I’ve watched all the vids in one day because my daughter has found a breast lump which will be biopsied next month - June 2024 - and just in case it is cancer I’m trying to find out as much as I can for her. She also has three little boys. God bless you and have a great post cancer life. ❤ You look fabulous bye the way. 😍
Hi, if you don’t mind me asking what’s the reason for a phase two surgery? I had a mastectomy ( left breast) in 2023 and just had my diep flap February 2024. Just had my third drain removed this past Thursday. Yayyyy Still healing everyday…
Thank you for this. I'm getting the deip flap in the fall, just the one breast that had mastectomy and breast lift on the other and I'm not sure if I want to go through so much pain but you r doing it so maybe I can too! ❤
I appreciate your videos... They helped me through a lot. Had my surgery (lumpectomy with bilateral reduction). Didn't have much pain the first couple weeks (which was weird), but I did start having tightness and some pain several weeks after. I will suggest that you check out the benefits of using castor oil (externally) for aches/pains and skin healing...Good luck with everything 🙏🙂
Hi thank you for sharing I have to do this surgery on February 2025 I am looking for doctors in manhattan Ny please if you don’t mind can I get the name and contact info for this doctor where you do your surgery I like the way you recovered
I'm very happy to find someone who is sharing now ❤. Thank you. There is nothing current on RUclips except yours, so thank you
You are so welcome!!!
Congratulations Marissa. I had my DIEP Flap 4 months ago and now preparing for Phase 2. Thank you for sharing your story!
Good luck! I found it to be so easy! I’m glad you found it useful

Many time you need a small procedure just to fix the way the scar falls and these little love handle toe bumps that can occur

You totally could and it’s so worth whatever pain I had in my opinion! You have to go with your gut I wish you so much luck!
It will be worth it, and you can definitely do it!! 💪🏼💗
you'e so strong..
I’m so sorry to hear this and I pray she has quick healing
You look fabulous,❤

IM A CANCER SURVIVOR AND DIDNT DO A RECONSTRUCTION AT THE TIME OF MY SIMPLE MASTECTOMY NOW IM SO SCARED TO GET IT DONE.
The best thing I can suggest is do your research talk to you doctors and make the decision that’s right for you.
@@MarissaJonasson thank you!!
Did you spend the night at hospital? That’s one thing I am unsure about for Phase 2
No I came home that day :)
