What should I do? I really love my best friend of 10 years to the point that every time I see him with someone, my heart aches. I want to move on and be with platonic relationship with him again, but I just can't. Everytime I see him approaching me my heart is about to explode. I really really love him. And I don't know what to do. I don't want to destroy our friendship. 😭
I would say if I could go back in time, I would share my confessions even if it would put a little dent in the friendship because if the friendship was strong enough, it will survive the temporary awkward phase that will happen after the confession. The reality is even if the friendship is maintained for just a few more years longer as is, are you going to be able to withstand seeing him move past you and it could be that even without him knowing how you feel, the friendship will still be different when he transitions to a different stage of his life at some point. The outcome wouldn't be much different, but I guess maybe you have a few more years of memories but what are memories when the current situation and future can no longer be what it was

I think you should really tell him how you feel if your heart is telling you that you can not be just friend with him anymore.
