Mari & Jerome
I'm glad you're able to acknowledge that Mari is the boss. 😉It definitely has a forest feel to it, very nice.
Ohh you know it Michael! lol!
Turned out great. Thank goodness you landed your wife. She’s seems to be the brains and the beauty of this operation.
Thank you Ed! She is the brains, but I thought I was the beauty?!😂
Nice Jerome, a fantastic composition, do you sell the plastic pots?
Hey Nigel! Unfortunately, I don't I found this pot at a local Bonsai nursery in Florida and thought it was super cool! They don't ship. If you'd like a couple, I can pick them up the next time I am in Florida and ship them to you. :)
@@WeareTheBonsaiSupply That would be awesome Jerome, I could use a couple!
@@TheBonsaiZone I got you!
Hey Jerome! Where in Florida? I really like these and have a bunch of Ports I’ve been wanting to do a forest with as well. What is the nursery ? Thank you. You could PM me on Facebook if that’s easier? Kevin Gondola
How's your forest jade Nigel.
I love this! I have a bunch of small baby jades at home and here in a few years I hope to do something similar!
Thank you Richard! Dwarf Jades are awesome candidates for propagating and forest creations.
This looks really cool! Mari's idea was perfect. I like how one tree is just off by itself.
Thank you ! Mari mostly has great ideas.LOL!
Hi Jerome! Perfect timing for this video, ive been rooting a dozen or so PA cuttings which I plan to plant into a regrowth forest planting with really tight growth. I love the far left crooked tree, it makes a great contrast to the other trees in the planting!
I’ll be back in 5 years for the update! This looks nice!
Don't wait that long! There will be plenty of updates and videos of this Jade forest before that.
Woohoo 🎉🎉🎉

Awesome job! Keep the videos coming!!
Great outcome,very informative!
Wow! Yeah, I ‘m new in the game, though years ago I did begin, haven’t done anything till now, but I was unaware you could/should tie them. Thanks a lot for this training.
Jerome you did well editing this video to 10 mins! Always love the videos, thanks mate!
Love the forest feel on the right, Don't care much for the single bent tree on the left! Throws it off balance!
Love it
Wow amazing bonsai. So beautiful
Thank you so much!
learn something new everytime you post a video!
Glad to hear that!
Mantap huu👍👍👍
you placed those trees very well, great video!
Nice work 👍👍
Very nicely arranged forest Jerome, loved it👌
Thank you Mangesh!
Looks awesome Jerome Sir 🔥🙌
Thank you!
Well done Mari 👍
Thank you CK!
Wow....... It's beautiful 👌👌👌. Great work bro👍
Thank you brother!

Awesome job, Jerome! Being a newby to bonsai, I appreciate your content. I have been rooting some dwarf jade to create a forest of my own! Thank you for the inspiration! Enjoy your day!
Awesome, thank you Tim!
Perfect video about Portulacaria afra. I wonder if I put 5 to 6 P. afra together if they would grow together as one, like ficuses. Have you ever tried something like this? Well thank you!
Great job. Now I am suffering from portulacaria envy. 😉
Hahahah. you are too kind Jay!
wow awesome job Jerome. I love the way you styled this portulacaria forest.. I have several tiny rooted cuttings of portulacaria afra (about 6 months old).. what would you typically recommend? Do you let them grow bigger first before putting them into a forest setting or just plant them together to form a forest?
I would plant them together already! The more time they have to grow, the better the root spread will look.
The one thumbs down is from a very egotistical dwarf jade tree that wants to shine alone.
Hola saludos desde El Salvador, sería interesante habilitar los subtítulo en RUclips
Great video.
Where did you get that large rectangular training pot.
Awesome. Where do you buy large plastic pots like. I can't find the anywhere. Thanks Jerome.
Another informative tutorial. Beautiful forest. I’m so envious of the material you have access to. Any way to provide a link to access those landscape pots? Thanks Jerome. Keep growing.
Hi Matt! Thank you for the compliment! We have the dwarf Jades for sale on our eBay store: www.ebay.com/sch/thebonsaisupply/m.html?item=333932979224&hash=item4dbff4e418%3Ag%3AJSYAAOSwQqtgmXwh&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
I am trying to get a hold of some of those pots, since there is a lot of interest. I got the pot from a small nursery in Florida, and they only had on. They also don't ship.
After how long would you generally get rid of the ground wires holding the tree's base, and how would they be removed? I guess it depends on individual species growth to prevent the wire cutting in right?
I once again thought Jerome is wrong about the front of the main tree. Then I got more negative and thought this isnt going to be a good looking forest. Once again youve proved me wrong Jerome. Why did I even doubt Perfect
TIP for everybody. Don't waste all that time picking and racking the root ball. Just grab it by the trunk and smash it against a rock or the ground. Shake off the soil maybe a little rake through and done. Now trim roots.
I love this forest! Where did the pot come from?
Thank you Julie!! I got the pot from a local Bonsai Nursery in Florida, called Dragon Tree. Unfortunately, they don't ship.
wife ="s boss -> best advice ever
I learned that early on while being married to Mari, she trained me well. LOL!
@@WeareTheBonsaiSupply Just like Bonsai, small slow adjustments. My wife has done the same over our 17yrs.
@@SilverF0XX hahaha, I love the reference!!
Beautiful! Quick question...i have a varigated dwarf afra didn't know these could be used as a bonsai, do you have a video in how to create a bonsai with them? Id love to see how this is done
Hi Elizabeth! I do not have a video with dwarf variegated Jades as they are much harder to come by. You can treat your variegated dwarf jade the the exact same way.
@@WeareTheBonsaiSupply do you have a video of training a dwarf jade into a bonsai? I didnt mean just a varigated, i meant in general for this sp
@@elizabethmitchell0071 oh, I am sorry, I misunderstood.😅 yes, we do check out our video library; we have probably 4-5 videos on jades
What causes the leaves to pit?
Where can I get shallow pots like that for forest style bonsai?
invest in a wireless mic maybe, the content is top tier yet the audio does not sound quite professional, keep up the good work
Are the roots that thick or did you leave remaining root ball filled with the existing medium for health reasons during the forest build?
Hey Daniel, I always try to leave a bit of the original soil when I repot a bonsai. In the next potting I will remove the remainder of the original soil.I probably left 10% of the original soil on these trees.
Can jade be wired ,tfs your methods.
Hi Jerome - do you fertilise your jade to get them that big? They’re huge!
Hi! Yes, I fertilize everything I grow every 30 days during the growing season. This is what I use: www.amazon.com/Bonsai-Fertilizer-Tons-Nutrients-Health/dp/B07K3RV66F/ref=sr_1_11?dchild=1&keywords=bonsai+fertilizer&qid=1629733931&sr=8-11
I have a really big question, I just bought a very cheap dwarf jade bonsai (twin informal upright) that is wired, how do I know when to take the wire out?
Hey Ricardo, wait until the wire starts to dig into the branches and then remove them. Thinner wire bites in first.
What type of wire do you use?
Hey Anthony! I use aluminum wire.
If I may… from the front the 4 main trees are spaced too evenly. Doesn’t look very natural
I make a comment from Japan.
I'm not too good at English, so I make a comment in Japanese.
根を切って植え替えをした場合は樹をもっと透かさないとだめです。根を切ったら上も切るそうしないと樹が傷みます。
