Part of the allure of early WoW was how the unfinished content fired the imagination. Seeing how most of it was done in later expansions felt like it lacked something. Maybe because the original developer team from 2004 was mostly gone by the time the extra content was created. To me, Cata and later expansions feel like a completely different game in a lot of ways.
Its the same feeling where people want to explore space when we havent even explored the ocean.
Blizzard felt like they had to take us to different continents or planets for content, meanwhile the locales and ideas is literally right there but they refuse to look back at scrapped ideas.
Thats why Cata was the end for me
the only reason it felt like it lacked something is because most people hyped up the possibilities to ludicrous levels that would have never been satisfied. thats the double edged sword of answering a mystery. the theory crafting will always be more extravagant than the reality. While the longer you let that mystery stew in peoples imaginations, the grander the expectation becomes.
The end of the story is, your imagination has no limitations while sadly the game engine and team does.
During vanilla, I was able to scale the mountains (It took 2 hours) from the SIlverpine side to hop over into Gilneas. It was pretty much all empty aside from grass/trees.
The disappointment...
@@unholyallen9572 It really was a sad day. I was expecting something amazing.
Loved Wall hopping up to IF air strip then up to the top of IF.
There's a spot in durotar to get on top of orgrimmar
I did the same back in the time of WotLK using a hunter bat pet, which was bugged, and would physically climb mountains pressing "W" with Eyes of the beast, and then stay there.
I used my cousin's warrior and my pet, first, doing a duel and "charging" to the bat on CD, then, when duel range was too far away; using intervenes. My cousin's warrior entered to Gilneas, and I was at the door. We asked 2 other familiars (mage and warlock) to help us make it through the door; it turned out that when the mage dueled me, using sheep, flame nova, dragon's breath, and idk what else, my hunter achieved to access to a gap in the middle of the door of Gilneas. From there, we summoned us to that gap using the warlock, and then, we summoned us inside with the warrior.
What a day.
I remember stumbling upon the raid portal behind a gate in winterspring back when I started playing in TBC, and it sparked my imagination about what that could be for years. Finding these strange hidden things in the game is some of the coolest things, because of the mystery of what could be
Years ago, when WOTLK was the expansion - I was raiding Ironforge for the Black War Bear in a raid group. 3 or 4 of us got feared into the door, and ended up clipping into old Ironforge.
I went and got the winterspring frostsaber as a human rogue when classic launched. That meant taking longer to quest having to go through kalimdor zones but then having to also grind darnassus rep so i could learn how to ride cats. got it, rode around an AV and then didnt login again from burnout.
Hahahahaha its so relatable. 😄
The true vintage classic wow experience
Classic + should just be everything they originally planned for the game. EVERYTHING.
thats what i want too, so much potential with classic+.
Runescape is a beautiful example of a game that relaunched a classic version, added content to it, and had a HUGE success that out performed the newer version of the game. It is 100% doable and there is literally a case study. Blizz just needs to get their shit together.
We used to jump on invisible 'ledges' on the wall by the arched doorway between trade and mage area in Stormwind. It was by the torch on the wall on the right side. Do that a certain way and you would phase through the wall into an unfinished area. It was massive. Parts were untextured. Another one was through the kings chamber in IF. And another was the last platform on the stairs before getting to the last boss in Manaforge. I died there and just blipped into it. Next time I was there I died on purpose and ended up in the graveyard near Hillsbrad. The other fun was climbing the invisible ledges on the mountain behind Ironforge to get to the airport up above. That wasn't a place you zoned into though. That was an actual climb and knowing where to jump. Also I got that tiger and I am glad I did it. I just did it when I was bored and had a little time. LOL at Horde attempt.
How housing works in bdo. Each town and village has plots that costs points. Each plot can has a designated range of use from housing for workers, item production - send workers to do that, storage for that town, or personal housing. More advanced production costs more. Also if desired plot is at 1-3, need to spend points on 1-2, and 1-1. People decorate houses with rare items from boss drops, produced items, and cash purchased set. There is a score associated with how much stuff is in the house. Highest score of all players per town gets access to special investment banks of that town-some houses are crammed with $$$ decorations. Some towns have amazing views of mountains or oceans and a lot of space in plots, and others are just 4 walls and a door. Also highest tier of production type at higher address numbers, like 1-7 (meaning 1-1 thru 1-7 needs to be purchased. There are limited amount of contribution points; selling plots refunds points. Homes are instanced. Can visit different homes also.
WIldstar was the next best MMO to WoW, in terms of ambitiousness and theme. I really was impressed by it.
Player housing was god-tier in that game
I played Wildstar at launch and really loved it, it was a pity that it didn't take off.
I would love a version of this game.
That just completed everything they had to give up later.
I would love if they made some of these zone lvl60 content, like kharazan, and hyjal.
They could even add new gear, as long as it wasn't a magnitude better.
Just gear that gives us more options, using models that already exist.
I think they need to treat this like a sandbox, they could test out those crazy zone ideas, id love more expansion into the "spirit realm" more quests that require soul form.
There is just so much they could do, but they would have to have that old spirit of the game to work.
And idk if blizzard can recreate the beginning of the creation. Of the world of warcraft
Try Turtle wow bro. You have a lot of Classic+ there, i was sceptical but when i saw the Goblins and the bonus content and the Blizzlike apporach. I felt in love! I guarantee youll love it! Most popular P server right now
Its so cool to discover new content creators and still be amazed by how great and different content they can deliver. Thank you.
The main reason classic makes me sad, is no wallwalking and non server side gaming. Wallwalking got you all over the place and since it wasnt server side, you could change texture files and move to places you shouldnt have got to, and change Zep coordinates. Was truly the best time to play WoW ever.
I'm pretty sure they turned that chain essence into a junk item and I vendord it because I remember later on when completing quests for sunken temple having to send a ticket to have it restored. This was during WoTLK before Cataclysm.
Turtle wow completed the disc quest chain, karazhan dungeon and is busy with emerald dream.
There's one Classic+ private server that I really adore playing on.
Maan, the WoD garrisons had potential, but so much of it was scrapped in the end, namely us picking a zone to house our Garrison,... atleast with the Alliance they got a nice atmosphere but the Horde was stuck in the dirt and snow.
thinking about it, I wish that they doubled down on the whole Garrisons thing and converted the abandoned faction capitals into Guild Garrisons, because atleast then they would have been used for something instead of being wasted space.
The chained essence trinket was an awesome PvP item that stopped rogues vanishing.
I remember I had it as a kid when I played back in original, no idea what I was doing.
Something I loved doing when the cooldown was up, was I would join an AV and wait for a turtle. Then I would ride my mount deep into the pile of alliance and use my trinket to poison everyone.
It did so little damage that it made no difference in reality but I always though "damn look at all those numbers, I'm doing so much, there's no way they can handle all that"
@Matthew Lerma fighting on the alliance bridge, should have been made into its own 1 life battle ground.
i loved the garrison but eventually it was indeed just stay in your garrison no reason to go out... get bored... but i love fully building it and getting all the achievements
Pretty sure I used to farm satyrs in ashara for felcloth. If memory serves, I spent a lot of time there.
FF14 housing in classic wow would be so frickin cool
I think there would be a lot of disagreement on what kind of design you would put in for the new classic+ quests and raids. Some people would want them to be very similar to the original designs, to keep consistency, and others would prefer a more modern approach.
Which is why if Classic+ did become a thing community voting similar to OSRS would be necessary imo.
The absolute vast majority of Classic players are not going to prefer a more modern approach lmao, I guarantee that
@@veritasabsoluta4285 yes.
How do you match the wide spread of classic dungeons?
A new huge dungeon like BRD is a must for a plus.
Large places where someone can just go an do one part as they choose.
Maybe with a series of drops which allow access to an end game part of the dungeon.
Anyone else notice how the community sort of ruined wow in Cata? Blizz started giving the players what they think they wanted, what they were asking for and the game steadily got worse as the xpac went on.
If they make classic+ with all these missed out on dungeons/zones, tune some classes to make them viable, and add real player housing I wouldn’t ever play anything else.
dont let youtubers continue to afford 3 doordashes a day and not have to work like you do. NEVER watch ads. NEVER watch content until all ads in video are finished.
Shut up. You could start a channel and build a following, but YOU don't "work like" they do.
Uh based?
whats the problem? you consume the content and you dont even pay for it
Better idea: why don’t you become a RUclipsr if it’s so easy to get rich doing it?
Guzu is not a youtuber. He's a hardcore WoW streamer
Imagine Classic+ with a 40 man Emerald Dream raid and difficulty equal of higher than Naxxramas, OMG PLEASE.
With brand new T4 sets, in the theme of the emerald dream and in the style of this era
@@CrakalakaFR rip pvp gear even more
@@nyndoke7210 this is the problem with any + content.
Some how it has to be added in a way that is basically equivalent to the 2.5 and 3.
These quest lines randomly ending after you give so much effort the quest giver is like what happens to charlie at the end of willy wonka.. YOU GET NOTHING! YOU LOSE! GOOD DAY SIR!
Turtle 🐢 WoW. It’s the closest to vanilla+ you can get. And it’s free. If you have not tried it, you should.
this is incorrect about the venomhide raptor mount you can get it in vanilla....
People actually believing Eyonix' lies from way back when and still hoping for that content. It doesnt exist, it wasnt made.
I never gave up that gas trinket I made a /fart emote with it.
I would rather have class changes, before questing or instance content. Make a reason for the classes to exist in the world before adding more to it.
Man biggest F for farminf Furbolgs for mount xD I was faming it just for fun n to make golds from firewaters and I enjoyed that actually.
Are you from nordjylland?
vanilla was overly ambitious but undercooked interesting and interactive game mechanics just did not exist they were developed years later, it should have been much smaller but much vell developed
I think he missed the Naga playable race?.
Ahh yes, nothing quite like reuploading someone elses video
Ultima Online housing was great
holy shit this guy says right a lot, right? after pretty much every sentence, right?
If only they would have left out Demonic Runes
if i have to run naxx one more time i might swap to minecraft
Wow's expansions are NOT ambitious. Considering the fact that two MMO's that were created before WoW, Everquest and Asheron's Call had way more content and expansions that WoW even has today. Everquest was has released at least one expansion pack a year since it's launch and Asheron's Call, when it was still around, had monthly content updates that gave you new quests, new dungeons, mobs and even new lands. Of all the MMO's that released pre WoW, probably only UO has had less content. Even DAoC was releasing an expansion pack a year for the first few years of it's existence.
sorry wow fans, but i loved garrisons
Yeah south park is better now that they're focusing on him again.
Vanilla is okay, class balance was garbage to put it lightly, some specs completely pointless, walking simulator, changing spec was a serious commitment, it's about time for a graphic update if they're gonna do vanilla again. I know a lot of people are fine with vanilla with it's mountain of faults. Don't keep eating the same garbage, they can at least try a rework of talent trees
🙏🙏
I love stealing other people`s videos /clap
First !? You are great Guzu, regards from Sweden ;)
Would you really want classic+ though? You gotta remember that it's not the team of vanilla that would make it. It would be the forced woke, breast milk drinking, sexist, makes shit games where political correctness (because of their own fuck ups) matters more than the game blizzard that would. It's almost sad that wow initially got so popular, so fast. It basically ruined the company over 2-3 years after release. Imagine if activision didn't buy blizzard...etc.
Wow, dude.
Ouf, thats alot.
So true:(
The nerds who originally made WoW are not in their prime any more.
@@chc2650 Most of the OG crew aren't even with the company anymore, for various reasons.
Only Guzu can extend a clip from 19 minutes to 32 minutes. He seems to really like Vanilla.
who paied you WoW account when you were 10 years old?
i did winterspring frostsaber grind in vanilla and it ruled
For what purpose?
I feel the pirate hat was a worthy grind but I didn't do that either.
@@mrillis9259 for the winter spring frostsaber mount
@PrankCallFan845 some guy mistakenly did the grind for the Sabre, as horde lol
