The fact he didn't even finish in the top 3 at his position in the NL goes to show how meaningless being voted to go to the All-Star game is. It's just a popularity contest. Trea keeps his head down and does his job as well as anyone at his position so no know notices him.

I remember being at this game. Right before anything good happened to the Nats (including the triple) my dad always said the same thing which was “what have you done for me lately”. It turned out to be a good omen for that game. That was the good days for the Nats until they had to rebuild.
