Update: the process went well It's probably the easiest mod ever I followed along with the video Other than the middle one, the torx screws are a bit slanted. Everything looks good and thanks for the tutorial A side note: as other poster mentioned, make sure the SSD is NVMe. I installed Crucial 2280 NVMe 1TB on it. The blue tape on the top should be heat transfer tape
Thank you very much for your help! I would have never known about the two screws hidden under the laptop feet without your helpful video. Thank you for what you do and please know that it is greatly appreciated by computer hardware novices such as myself.
Greetings, I will be upgrading the M.2 card on my UX434FLC Zenbook from 512GB to 2TB. What brand of M.2 Card do you recommend? Can you recommend a 2TB "single sided" M.2 storage card? Can I get by using a double sided M.2 card? Thank you in advance.
I have a Asus Vivobook that has a 1tb SSD. Can I take that ssd and install it into my new Zenbook without using cloning software? Or can I just plug and play?
I just got this little laptop I don't realize SSD is one sized BTW, you can use USB ethernet adapter (I use Trendnet) for initial setup (setup Wi-fi later) $550 is so good to be true
How difficult would it be to replace the keyboard on this model? I find the keys difficult to read (even backlit), with hardly any contrast between the text & the silver keys. I was thinking of replacing with a darker keyboard.
Hi! I have a question, do you know if the Crucial P5 1TB is compatible with this ASUS? I want to upgrade my ssd but I want to be really sure if it will work with the ssd I mentioned, I’ll be waiting for your reply and thanks for the video! It helped me a lot to take the step to upgrade my laptop!🙇🏻♂️
Do you know if you can upgrade thhe RAM in the Zenbook duo 14? It comes with 8 GB and it says its capable to take 16 GB but how if is soldered to the board?? By the way, thank you for your video on up dating the SSD (NVME)! Appreciate it.
Hi, I have a few questions: Will the computer automatically detect the windows licence key or will I have to enter it after the upgrade? Also is downloading the Asus app mandatory or does Windows automatically update the drivers following a fresh install?
Hi. Yes, windows will automatically activate as long as you have internet connection. Most of the drivers will be taken care of by windows. I recommend getting the free My Asus app though, from the ms store. Thx, Dale

Hi. I bought the new asus Q538e 11gen I7, 16gb ram, 4gb video, oled 4k touch. It came with a 1tb NVMe drive but I wanted to put in a faster drive....so I purchased the WD Black SN850 NVMe gen 4 7000mb per second drive. Bios saw it but windows install never did. As I gave up I put the original drive back in so I could contact asus........bit locker locked the laptop. I want this new drive in the laptop....but this was not a smooth sailing adventure.
The reason why the laptop was not fully powered off was because you released your finger off the power button before it shut down, causing it to go into sleep mode instead. Remember: a proper shut down would be going into the start menu and clicking shut down.
If the laptop is new without many things installed, is there any reason not to clone it? Will it cause issues if I clone it to a bigger drive? I bought the same laptop and still haven't gone through Windows setup I don't know whether to clone it or reinstall windows.
You think I could do this myself never attempted something like this. I got a computer store willing to do it 120$ for clean install 150$ for everything transferred over should I pay or try myself.
You can do it for free . Its not as hard .Its just unscrewing and installing the new ssd and screw it back . Simple ! No need to spend 150$ on this . You can back up your data and windows key by watching tutorials on youtubep
Thanks for this great video!! Mine is a new Asus Zenbook 14 UM425IA, can the WD SN550 M.2 2280 NVMe SSD 1TB in your video fit into it..? I want to upgrade it to 1TB.
Welp, I got my answer here. RAM is not upgradeable on this machine. I was hoping to figure out how to install a 16GB card but the RAM is soldered into the mobo.
Hi. A clean install is a sure thing, pretty quick and easy. Clone if you wanna retain all apps and data. If you dont care about any data or programs, clean install is fast. Dale
So the only option is to replace the old SSD with bigger capacity?? I thought it has a free slot. Another question, if I do clean install like yours do I need a new windows license or not?
@@ovadyarachman7243 i bought the 8Gb soldered model, lol, but tbh i bought this laptop mainly for word processing and code writing on the GO, i have a much more powerful desktop workstation.

Hi! Great video.
Quick question, will I benefit if I install a gen4 pcie SSD or will it be bottlenecked by the slot of the laptop?
Thanks!
I want to ask sir, how about the original windows license on previous install, is it gone?
I mistakenly purchased XPG SX8200, it woks fine but it bent. Would it safe if I keep it or ahould I replace it?

Thanks. Planning to upgrade mine too soon
Is it easy to put those rubber things back on?
Would you say disconnecting the battery is definitely necessary?
Hi. Well, if you new at this stuff, then yes. Also pushing power button after disconnecting battery is needed too. Otherwise, be darn careful. Dale

Thanks for your video. I have the same laptop and wonder if I can use the Wd Black Sn750 2280 never gen4? Will this work?
Isn't the component getting electro discharged if you do in top of the carpet surface?

Does Windows create a 2nd partition for the C drive as I've read this computer has a reserve of 32gb, maybe you can elaborate on that?
Why did the Nvidia graphics card not show in task manager on the new ssd?

if you turn the motherboard inside out, is there a extra slot for 2nd ram, even though one ram is soldered on
That is not true.
Hi sir, can we upgrade ram in asus zenbook ux430uar
Hi, is there any way to keep the both SSDs? And use them together...
Hi, no, unfortunately there is only one nvme slot. Dale
