The outfit looks amazing 😍 About transparency, I usually use nude color lining matching my skin tone. It's almost invisible from the outside and you can have lining as shorts then.
The sheer joy I felt when you announced you were picking the flower buttons lol they are perfect!! This is the exact set that got me wanting to get back into sewing. Now I'm off to make a similar set!
This outfit is so inspiring, very unique with the classical pieces styled in a modern way. BTW if you want to press without the iron, linen finger-presses quite well so it's easy to make a crease with no heat.
Amazing in every way! I love how the neat fit of the trousers at the waist contrasts with the more straight fit or the vest (waistcoat). I have some checked grey linen I might turn into a waistcoat, you’ve inspired me!
Thank you! I tried to imitate the Dissh design as much as possible so I left the waist darts in the back of the vest which gave it this angular shape. It makes me happy you feel inspired! 🌸
Currently making a navy linnen button up shirt for my partner to help him deal with the heat. Linnen is such a beautiful fabric to work with, but frays like crazy! I'm using french seams wherever I can! Your set looks so classy! 🙌
I absolutely love the set you’ve created! Thank you for documenting the journey ❤️ As a UK girlie, can i ask which haberdashery you bought your linen from? Do they have an online store? ✨
The trick to not having your lining be visible through the pants is to use a lining fabric that is the exact same color as the skin of your thighs. Trust me, it works every time! It's not so much the transparency that is the problem, but the brightness of the white underlayer. You could also use a skin colored fabric on the outer side of the pockets, to disguise those too. By the outer side, I mean the inner surface that touches the backs of your hands when your hands are in your pockets. Does that make sense? It would cover the other side and hide it, except where the other side peeks out at the opening. All that being said, your pants turned out amazing anyway, so no advice is needed, clearly!
So freakin' chic!! 😍 This set is a dreaaaamm!!! I have to say that i voted for the more plain buttons on your insta poll, but I'm actually so glad you went with the little flower buttons!! Also, now I deffo think I need to try out Lina Stores... That truffle pasta looked immense!!
Watching from Florida, US where it is no less than 90F all summer long. I am wondering why people in London dont use A/C units on hot days or even a fan. Any way.... love the pants.
Thanks! It’s not usually this hot here which is why people don’t invest in AC units. I did buy a fan during those days which helped a little, but not much 🫠
Thank you!!! ☺️ unfortunately not at the moment, but you can try to recreate it with the link in the description using Jess Dang‘s trouser tutorial and the basic bodice block tutorial on my channel to modify it for the vest. I plan to make more trousers and vests in the fall and I will make sure to create a step-by-step pattern drafting lesson for it 👍

Thank you! Yes French seams are a great to finish a garment on the inside, especially if you don’t want to use or don‘t have an overlocker.
It’s just gorgeous! I love it. Bravo!
Thank you ☺️✨🎈

Thank you so much! It's been a while but I think I bought that one on Goldhawk Road, I'm thinking it was this one: www.classictextiles.co.uk
