East Meon Hampshire. Meon Valley.

East Meon in the South Downs is a picturesque little village in Hampshire with pretty thatched cottages, it’s located in Meon Valley, only one mile from South Downs Way, about 19 miles along the South Downs Way from Winchester. River Meon, one of the Hampshire chalk streams, rises at East Meon and then flows through the famous Meon Valley.
There is a charming ambiance about this historic village dating back to as far as 400AD, it was part of a Royal Manor once owned by belonging first to King Alfred the Great, and then William the Conqueror.
