As someone who is currently struggling with severe anxiety, when coach talks about when he had health problems and the fear of dying started to overwhelm him, I can totally relate. It “rocked him to his core” He talks about his fear. Very courageous.
I'm a die-hard Kansas fan, but I could listen to Coach Hurley talk basketball for hours. His passion and energy make him such a fun coach to follow. I hope he's still coaching 20 years from now.
Thank you Dan Hurley for bringing UConn back to greatness! And making us Connecticut residents very arrogant when it comes to Who’s the best College program!

I swear I love this guys wife! She is so perfect for him. She serves it straight with no chaser. She doesn't have the extra knowledge of the game which helps tremendously. She brings it back to earth.
While the NBA is something that may or may not happen, I see him as the coach of team USA like Coach K. He would do great in FIBA basketball. UConn plays a very similar style. In CT, Hurley is literally the king of the state.
I was a high school coach in Indiana for 7 years, and how he describes himself was spot on to me. However, he has been able to function with his issues...I much prefer the assistant job because I cannot. Really enjoyed the interview and his teams.
She’s a saint. She was with him when he was struggling and is definitely not a gold digger. Hurley’s predecessor at UConn dealt with some of that after his championship and he was never the same.
As if that’s a bad thing? Isn’t that the point to find a partner that is your better half? Someone who unconditionally loves you and challenges you to be a better person.
GB's stuff is legend... Danny has suffered the damnation of the Furies, which, like Robert Johnson's crossroads, has made him an unparalleled force. The neck/spine issues that could've crippled him was chilling to hear.
Hurley has enough media training to be a public facing professional, but thankfully lacks the corporate bs filter and actually talks like an honest person. "I went younger" lol. Hurley rocks . Just now hearing "Please don't make me feel uncomfortable" lol Hurley kicks ass
Wow fantastic interview, I just subscribed because of this and I had never heard of you before so there's that! Lol Also at about 129min in the vid 2 big bruises form over Dan's right eye and forehead. I looked at time stamps and he didn't have them they started forming around 10 min before just a weird observation.
Creating another source of income in these difficult times is the best thing to do. Not only does it guarantee returns, it also helps you plan and save for future express it can be quite difficult to make an investment without sound knowledge or guidance which is why it is adorable to work with an investment advisor
I love Dan and respect how open he is. But part of me thinks too it's unhealthy for kids to be pushed into playing basketball or sports so much. Because part of Dan has always seemed kind of miserable despite his accomplishments.
I will never fully understand the American obsession with college sports. So much money involved, it’s staggering. How can some of these programs afford to pay a coach $50 million dollars when students have massive loans to get their degrees? Loans that take years to pay off. Military personnel struggle to make ends meet and you are paying one dude $50 million just to coach kids how to throw a ball through a hoop.
With the entrance of a 7'9" player in the college game , should not the NCAA rule that any touching of a 3 pointer shot be goal tending , on the way up as well as on the way down?
Will end up an all time great coach. But as a player? Get real with yourself. You are 6'2 and shot under 30% 3pt. Awful efficiency for career. There was no predraft process for you.
He also played in a time where the 3pt shot is not what it is today. I agree that he just wasn’t a good player, but pinning it on something that was almost irrelevant back then is dumb
@@TrippyTexas it’s not dumb at all. They didn’t shoot volume 3s, but guards were still expected to shoot an efficient percentage. Especially at that size. if you want to act knowledgeable, then refer to his FG% instead of his 3pt%. There was never a time that wasn’t a value
@@loganbaltau386 for someone pretending to act knowledgeable, you sure do have a primitive view of efficiency. Efficiency is less about the percentage you shoot, but rather how many points you generate per shot. Now, it’s not to say Dan was the most efficient player ever. He struggled from 3 and from 2, but his free throw rate picked up his efficiency quite a bit, especially his senior year. So given the fact he averaged 14 and 5 on Seton Hall with decent efficiency his senior year (and is from the Hurley family), it’s safe to say he probably had a pre-draft process. Hope this helps
@@ppk355 all of this is incorrect. Efficiency is absolutely measured by percentages, in addition to shot value. To think percentage isn’t part of the equation shows you are not knowledgeable . You can’t shoot a bad FG and 3pt but have an average FT and consider that efficient. Btw, I’m a coach. Hope this helps
@@loganbaltau386Alright, answer this then. If I play a game and shoot 1-4 from 2, 1-4 from 3, but 25-30 from the free throw line, did I have an efficient game? This should prove my point. And by the way, it has nothing to do with basketball or being a basketball coach. It’s simple statistics buddy
The single best Hurley interview ever. So honest and open, approaches everyday like a champ. So many lessons
This is an amazing Guy sharing everything!! Absolutely deepens my respect for him!!

So grateful to Dan and Andrea Hurley for being here as part of our community in CT and bringing us so much joy and pride! 💙🙏🏼♥️
This guy is as good as it gets. As real as it gets too

Great Coach!! He coaches and teaches toughness which young men need to survive in the world today!!!!
While the NBA is something that may or may not happen, I see him as the coach of team USA like Coach K. He would do great in FIBA basketball. UConn plays a very similar style. In CT, Hurley is literally the king of the state.
The best interview on this channel, absolutely incredible! Dan Hurley is 1/1, a madman who's a basketball savant.
Dan is leader. I played PG from 14 to 21 years of age. He is balanced but effective. A hard thing to accomplish on the court and in one's personality.
Graham gives underrated interviews 🙏
If Danny gets this 3-peat he’ll reach Legend status at the collegiate coaching level 💯🏀💪
I was a high school coach in Indiana for 7 years, and how he describes himself was spot on to me. However, he has been able to function with his issues...I much prefer the assistant job because I cannot. Really enjoyed the interview and his teams.
An excellent coach.
The best there is right now in college basketball.
This is incredible.
Amazing interview!!
Andrea Hurley is Iconic based on that gym quote ALONE!!! lol
What an interview! Wow
Love Coach Hurley Man
Great interview
His wife is amazing. She's a force. We love her in CT. She's our queen
😮
I always knew Dan would be in the position that he's currently in👍
He's a great coach. But, based on this interview, in my opinion, the best thing he has going for him is his wife.
What kind of comment even is this
She’s a saint. She was with him when he was struggling and is definitely not a gold digger. Hurley’s predecessor at UConn dealt with some of that after his championship and he was never the same.

Why does his morning routine remind of the Keanu Reeves perfect day but way different activities lolol
Not going to the Lakers was probably his best career decision. He and LeBron would've butt heads.
Very glad UK didn’t hire Hurley after getting to know him a little.
It seems like he has good self awareness, but she also knows how he operates
12:39 I got that Lonzo Ball vibe. Sorry. I dont know why I wrote that.

he brings the university way way more then his salary
He makes money for the university. It’s basic economics
I definitely hear you but at least Dan wins. It's not like UConn is drowning in debt. Or at least that I'm aware of.
With the entrance of a 7'9" player in the college game , should not the NCAA rule that any touching of a 3 pointer shot be goal tending , on the way up as well as on the way down?

And she is not great full.
