WOW - I just met a woman from Uden via selling items to help my savings account to move to Netherlands next year, 2025. I rarely watch RUclips but I am so happy I tuned in today. Thank you for your time and efforts to share your adventures. I will start from your beginning and watch them all now!
Family also migrated from Uden to Little Chute Wisconsin in the 1800’s- lucky enough to visit the city myself a few years ago. Found lots of ancestors in the cemetery. Very pretty city :)
I was stationed at Volkel AB which is close to Uden from 1980- 1983. I lived in Veghel but had colleagues that lived in Uden. Our favorite restaurant was Mark’s Barbecue there in Uden and that restaurant is still there. Colleagues still go back their Dutch wives to visit their families. This was the best 3 years of my 20 year Air Force career. Nicest people I have ever met.
What a great presentation I( grew upin Uden & migrated with my family to Australia in 1959. I paid a n Uden revisited trip in 2004 and it is great to see it again. Regina from South East rural Australia.
i grew up there in the 80's-90's..was a nice little town,..went to school there and in my 20's worked as a barman in Rendez-Vous, best time of my life...i miss Uden but...seeing how overbuild it is now...im glad i left...greetings from Durban, South Africa..
I'm a vulonteer at 't Knekelhuisje. It happens to be so that my mother was born in Kimbetley Wiconsin, My grandparrents ( van de Ven) lived there from 1910 to 1921. Four brothers of my granfather stayed there, since five broghers immigrated to the USA. What a nice concept you two have there, very nice!
My grandparents married in that Catholic church, my Dad and is 6 siblings were baptized in that church. They too immigrated to Canada..Winnipeg, Manitoba. Their story wasn't as good. They arrived at the train station in Winnipeg..with no such address, work or a place to stay. The priest was able to send them to SW Ontario to work on a farm and work.
Nice place❤
