There's actually a 2nd cut (Sam says so at an awards speech) when he takes the bag off his head. If you look closely, Ren's hair is wet when it first comes off (because it was like a tinderbox in there), then his hair is dry when the hood comes off. 😊💜

What a powerful message in this amazing work of art stating in a way that you need to rewrite the old script running in your head and write your own definition of what success looks like. A definition that brings you happiness and fulfillment while only viewing money as a tool to reach your goal, but never viewed as the goal itself. Love watching your Ren reactions. I believe this wasn’t a try 1 take video. I think there was a cut when the camera moves around Ren in the wheelchair before revealing the strings. The water sprinklers meant that could only be one take so this was split into two parts as the water right at the end. Non the less this music video is a true work of art. Renegade for life:)

This is not a one take there is a cut behind the wheelchair, Ren only had the one suit and they did not have time for the floor to dry if it went wrong. Good morning ladies! We're here! Finally! Money Game Part 3! This is a masterpiece of a music video. Quite possibly the best music video ever produced, or at least in the top 10. Time to do some deep diving for you! There is so much to this one video, but a majority of it can be seen in a very special 2 hour 28 minute behind the scenes video recorded by TheWolfJohnson (a fellow reactor, but more importantly, a poet and literary wordsmith) during the production of the video. You'll see an awesome cameo by Knox Hill as he was spending time with Ren during its production. The piano he is playing on at the very beginning is a 2023 Yamaha black grand piano worth over 100,000 USD and gifted to Ren BY Yamaha themselves as a way of saying thank you for being who he is. As far as we know, he did have to return it after the production was over, but it's an incredible gift. One of the best grand pianos you can get in the entire world. The entire budget for the video is the single most amount of money he's ever spent on any production at the time or since: 25,000 USD. Most of his videos barely cost a couple hundred bucks to produce so it's literally over 20 times more money than he's ever used. The composition and arrangement of the piano and strings were done by Ren. The lyrics were written by Ren. The direction is by Ren. The cinematography is, of course, by our amazingly talented Sam Palvey and Square Sun Studios. The piano is performed by Ren during the first roughly 40 seconds. The intent of Part 3, like Part 1 and 2, represents an element of Greed. Part 1 was the Systems/Government, Part 2 was the Methods/Intent, and Part 3 is the Example/Individual. There is only one cut in the entire video: the moment where the wheelchair stops, the camera pans over the back, and then returns back around to frame him and the strings quartet. The reason for this is primarily that the suit Ren is wearing is extremely expensive, the only truly custom suit Ren has ever had, and thus, he did not want to destroy the suit for multiple takes so they stopped production to make sure that the rain gear was setup and everyone had the correct positions so they could get the one take for the ending section correctly. Ren still has the suit, but it was costly to get it dried, cleaned, and fixed. The lovely and courageous violist on the far left got soaked during the rain sequence because the rain gear malfunctioned. She took it like a champ and kept her cool, but Ren was so upset about it that he thanked her and then paid for her viola to be dried, repaired, and her bow strings to be restrung out of his own personal pocket. It's the reason she doesn't play during that final sequence with the rest of the quartet. The bags over the heads represent the emptiness of all of us being a part of the 'Game', that we are, effectively, nothing important. We are faceless, voiceless, blind, deaf, and oblivious to its real functions and the noose around the necks represents the ties that bind us to that Money Game, that we are all stuck within its grasp. This singular video has won multiple awards since its release, including Best Music Video (multiple times), Best Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Audio Production. I am certain that Ren will produce other exceptional, groundbreaking work, again sometime in the future, but when that will be, who knows? Only Ren. One of Ren's ultimate goals is to actually get a Netflix show produced that specialises in his exact form of storytelling, but involving other creators as well, like he does with his collaborations with other artists: a musical and visual theatrical performance that showcases how music and story connect so deeply. It would be akin to an anthology series where each episode represents different subjects or themes, but all done in live, one take, moments expressly for the purposes of intent like The Tales or Money Game. I really would love to see you ladies take on his busking videos next. He is SOO good and his work with his band The Big Push is fucking amazing. Truly inspiring and wondrous to watch. They are also just a damn good fun time. You will really enjoy it. It's also a chance to see the versatility and agility of Ren and his buddies. When Ren takes the bag off his head his hair is wet (it was like a tinderbox in there), when the bag/hood comes off, his hair is dry. When I look at it now, it's easy to see. I saved the ECU vid. I suppose it’s because there isn’t a fresh instant reaction and discussion about the music or the video. There is almost a pre-empted thought to the reaction. And unfortunately, I don’t think it’s a present reaction.

We're here! Finally! Money Game Part 3! This is a masterpiece of a music video. Quite possibly the best music video ever produced, or at least in the top 10. Time to do some deep diving for you!
There is so much to this one video, but a majority of it can be seen in a very special 2 hour 28 minute behind the scenes video recorded by TheWolfJohnson (a fellow reactor, but more importantly, a poet and literary wordsmith) during the production of the video. Some information not shared within that video...
The piano he is playing on at the very beginning is a 2023 Yamaha black grand piano worth over 100,000 USD and gifted to Ren BY Yamaha themselves as a way of saying thank you for being who he is. As far as we know, he did have to return it after the production was over, but it's an incredible gift. One of the best grand pianos you can get in the entire world.
The entire budget for the video is the single most amount of money he's ever spent on any production at the time or since: 25,000 USD. Most of his videos barely cost a couple hundred bucks to produce so it's literally over 20 times more money than he's ever used.
The composition and arrangement of the piano and strings were done by Ren. The lyrics were written by Ren. The direction is by Ren. The cinematography is, of course, by our amazingly talented Sam Palvey and Square Sun Studios. The piano is performed by Ren during the first roughly 40 seconds. He plays, initially, a Ren version of Eduard Grieg's Piano Concerto in A Minor, Opus 16: ruclips.net/video/fKfGDqXEFkE/видео.htmlsi=GEFx37D0vESV8ajG and then just before the Camera makes its 360 degree spin, he switches to his own composition. His close friend Charlie, a member of his production team and a friend for many years, is a classically trained musician and instrumentalist. He takes over for Ren and plays for the rest of the video. Ren didn't feel comfortable continuing to play its complex chords and notes during the video, so Charlie took over.

The location is a warehouse at the property called The Secret Garden Party, where Ren had his first live concert in years earlier this year.
The video was recorded during the late summer 2023 before Ren went back to Calgary for more treatments and the release of the Sick Boi album.
The intent of Part 3, like Part 1 and 2, represents an element of Greed. Part 1 was the Systems/Government, Part 2 was the Methods/Intent, and Part 3 is the Example/Individual.
There is only one cut in the entire video: the moment where the wheelchair stops, the camera pans over the back, and then returns back around to frame him and the strings quartet. The reason for this is primarily that the suit Ren is wearing is extremely expensive, the only truly custom suit Ren has ever had, and thus, he did not want to destroy the suit for multiple takes so they stopped production to make sure that the rain gear was setup and everyone had the correct positions so they could get the one take for the ending section correctly. Ren still has the suit, but it was costly to get it dried, cleaned, and fixed.
The lovely and courageous violist on the far left got soaked during the rain sequence because the rain gear malfunctioned. She took it like a champ and kept her cool, but Ren was so upset about it that he thanked her and then paid for her viola to be dried, repaired, and her bow strings to be restrung out of his own personal pocket. It's the reason she doesn't play during that final sequence with the rest of the quartet.
The bags over the heads represent the emptiness of all of us being a part of the 'Game', that we are, effectively, nothing important. We are faceless, voiceless, blind, deaf, and oblivious to its real functions and the noose around the necks represents the ties that bind us to that Money Game, that we are all stuck within its grasp.
This singular video has won multiple awards since its release, including Best Music Video (multiple times), Best Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Audio Production.
I am certain that Ren will produce other exceptional, groundbreaking work, again sometime in the future, but when that will be, who knows? Only Ren.
One of Ren's ultimate goals is to actually get a Netflix show produced that specialises in his exact form of storytelling, but involving other creators as well, like he does with his collaborations with other artists: a musical and visual theatrical performance that showcases how music and story connect so deeply. It would be akin to an anthology series where each episode represents different subjects or themes, but all done in live, one take, moments expressly for the purposes of intent like The Tales or Money Game.
I really would love to see you ladies take on his busking videos next. He is SOO good and his work with his band The Big Push is fucking amazing. Truly inspiring and wondrous to watch. They are also just a damn good fun time. You will really enjoy it. It's also a chance to see the versatility and agility of Ren and his buddies.

No BTS needed. You covered so much of it. Impressive. One detail you might want to know. According to Sam at his ECU awards speech, there was a 2nd cut. When Ren takes the bag off his head his hair is wet (it was like a tinderbox in there), when the bag/hood comes off, his hair is dry. When I look at it now, it's easy to see. I saved the ECU vid. Great job 😊❤

I just want to say without offending that I don’t like that one of you guys have seen the reactions. I suppose it’s because there isn’t a fresh instant reaction and discussion about the music or the video. There is almost a pre-empted thought to the reaction. And unfortunately, I don’t think it’s a present reaction.
