Ay did you ever read Invasion of the Body Squeezers? You should mos def pick it up if you don’t have it (its a two parter) and it has one of the coolest covers in my opinion.
Oh how do we order one??!! I am still a fan of goosebumps and the episodes still entertain me after work just to chill. In my late 20s and loving tv series from when I was a kid
Cool collection. You seem to be missing the rare Haunted Mask based on Tim Jacobus' artwork. I think it released back in 2011-ish? It's very hard to find now. I'm looking for one as well lol.
it just makes me wonder: did kathtyn long actress of carly beth wore the mask for the entire filming or is it just edited, and did they use the same mask prop for carly beths head and the action scenes of when it floated or on display in the novelty shop? i always wondered that... fun fact for haunted mask fans: carly beth and sabrina are both named kathryn and, carlys last name is long and sabrinas last name is short... great masks dude!!
I am grow up in goosebumps horrorland books and making of goosebumps 3rd the movie at the horrorland park like a horror world by Jack black this goosebumps horrorland monsters in the book
1:20 i have that exact mask on the left middle shelf it has been in my basement for years and years i dont know what it is made of but i hope it isnt rotted lol
This is actually a pretty sick collection dude, I also collect Goosebumps merch, it's a really fun world to collect from for sure. I'm missing a few of the pieces you have, some of which look phenomenal, especially the legit as fuck masks and the TV Slappy you have. I was NOT expecting that shit dude.I have the Slappy that was made and sold to look more like his depiction on the book covers, but it's nowhere near as cool as the one you have, not even in the same realm. And I 100% agree with you on the new covers, they are over-saturated color garbage compared to the originals. The work relationship between Stine and Jacobus was such that the original covers came out to be very unique to look at when coupled with the way you read the stories themselves. The new covers are so bright, unrealistic, and obviously digitally done, and they just do wrong what the originals did right in every way. The near realism and badass atmosphere of the old art was integral to what made me enjoy them so much that I ended up getting every book they put out in the original series by the time I was 12. And I get what they're trying to go for in the new covers, they're definitely going for an old school Universal monster movies look, with the font, and all that shit, but I can't figure out how the fuck they think that would work with color palettes that literally melt your eyeballs the longer you stare at them. They also milk the content of the books, like you can tell they gave all of the information to the artists while they were working on them, because they ruin the best parts of the books by just blatantly shoving a neon monster in your face on the front. There's a sick interview with Tim Jacobus where he talks about how he and Stine were basically just co-workers at the company, and although they were friends, he was basically just fulfilling his duties, and was only given a basic idea of what the book would be about, and he'd base his paintings on that alone. It's amazing how incredible his artwork looks with minimal details given to him, while these new guys have, in my opinion, made it hard to take the newer series too seriously. But then again, Goosebumps has been on the decline every since the 2000 series ended (just my opinion, though). They've tried over and over to capture the lightning in a bottle that was sparked so effortlessly in the early 90s, that at this point, it just seems like a cash cow to anyone older than 10. The only (book) parts of the series I care about enough to collect are the original, Give Yourself, and 2000. I also adore the line of Tales to Give You books they put out. I'm currently trying to rebuild my collection organically from the ground up right now, because several years ago, my mom sold most of them in a yard sale at some point, and it pissed me off to no end, but at this point I'm only missing a couple here and there from the special editions, Series 2000, and Give Yourself. I've got tons of doubles from the originals, though, just because those are way easier to find (but I never turn one down, and they're always a buck a piece). I'm at the point now, though, where I'm gonna have to go online to find the ones I'm missing, because you just can't thrift for them anymore. The new movies definitely caused a resurgence in collecting, especially for 90s memorabilia collectors in general. If money weren't tight and I wasn't lazy, I'd go ahead and finish the collection, but those facts remain intact, so I sit here with a lot of envy over some of the incredible shit you have in your collection.
Mask fans beware you're in for a scare! Great collection AJ dig the little mudman puppet. Love to see your other collections. My favorite goosebump book: Stay Out of the Basement great suspense, cover art and killer ending.
