    I was just traveling in Tokyo for a few weeks and I want to know one major thing for next time: How on earth do Japanese women stay non-sweaty in those super humid and hot train stations!! I wore cotton t-shirts in 60 degree weather and was still too hot everywhere I went. I was also so so sore after walking that much each day. More tips about how to stay comfortable yet fashionable while in Japan would be so helpful! :)

    I don't know why but these places do not appeal. There is a generic quality. I have been planning a trip and have found that almost anything that seems 'unique to Tokyo' can be found in other places.
    The neon signs that made certain neighbourhoods a 'must see' have gone from Tokyo. It's a big loss. Akihabara is dying (stores closing or moving). Odaiba is practically dead. Shinjuku has been gutted by construction work. Asakusa has lost a lot of places during the pandemic. Ginza may be alive, but not everyone can afford Ginza. Unique shopping in Tokyo is less present: chain stores are the same in other cities.
    Historical green parks, shrines, certain Live Houses, the Shinjuku Cat and (soon again) Team Lab are about the only things Tokyo has that are interesting to me. That is a short list for such a big city.

    • @kimdao
      @kimdao  Год назад +3

      Japan got hit hard from Covid and only opened their borders a few months ago. Obviously things have changed a lot, but you can say that about any country. Cities are always evolving, you can’t expect places to stay the same forever.
