  • The sounds in this video are from a collection of sfx from the Film Aliens, along with some random video game sfx I had collected. I did not make them myself.
    The construction of the video was very archaic. I made it frame by frame in MS-Paint, adding and subtracting elements one by one and saving them as a long collection of images.
    I then ran them through Windows Movie Maker, adding the pre-set transitions accompanied by sfx to give it a polished feel.
    In essence this video is a glorified Power Point presentation. It was at the time, my answer to not having the money for Premier Pro or After Effects.
    Feel free to use this for any projects you may have, it may work well on loop in the background of 80's style sci-fi scenes.

    Hey Knightcop, I grew up in the 80s as well with Aliens, Robocop, Terminator and Blade Runner. I also played Alien Breed and loved it. I'm a huge fan of this video of yours. Would you mind sharing the sound files that you gathered? I would love to use them in a video.

    I'm working on a project and I really need some sounds like this! Could I hire you? What I need is the early 90's sounding computer start up sounds, from the bios post beep, to the clicking floppy disk, and stutter and whine of the hard drive. Please get in contact with me if interested! I would love to share my project details with you.
    I was going to just record one of my old computers, but the end sound quality wouldn't be as clean or crisp as these. Let me know if we can work something out.

      I don't really design these sounds myself, I have a collection of sounds from films and videogames that I cobbled together, and the library mostly consists of the techy bleeps and bloops, not much in the way of physical fans or motors. I can gather the relivent sounds I have from my library and try to make them available to you, and I'd be happy to discuss the project and maybe help you out with the other sounds you need.

      I needed a sci-fi computer screen for a student film I was working on. I actually made each individual frame on MS paint- got some computer sound effects from the film ALIEN, then ran the footage through Windows Movie maker- added some distorted transitions and wham.
      For such low effort I'm still hally with how it turned out, but I wonder how I would go about doing it now that I have the proper programs today...

    • @Lagann120
      @Lagann120  4 года назад +15

      Legit, I did it a dumb way.
      I made each individual frame on MS paint, and then used super simple Windows Movie maker transitions to make it look a bit more sci-fi.
      What you are looking at is more or less a glorified PowerPoint presentation. lol
      The sounds are the real magic. I managed to find a collection of computer sounds from Alien and Aliens, as well as a couple of sound effects from the old X-wing dos game I think.
