Looooove these LeSourdsville lake videos. ❤️Went there all my life until they closed. I certainly miss that place it was wonderful having my youth spent there
Wow, so many memories of that place. Grew up in Hamilton and as a kid in the 50's my Mom and Dad would take me there. Was always a fun time. North of town on Route 4 if I remember right.
Yeah, I am 51 and remember going to both parks. That was back when the swimming area WAS a lake with a large tower fountain in the middle. Many wonderful memories there although Fantasy Farm was more for small children and more of an early petting zoo with small rides.
I'm 51 as well, it's nice to see another "veteran" out here! My last active visit at 'Americana' was in about 78-79. Man, you couldn't navigate a bicycle through the place, it was always so packed, especially on a Saturday night! Can't remember the name of the ride across from the game room, towards the left rear of the park, but the kid that ran that ride would bring his personal sound system with the old tower speakers, and blast ZZ top all night long! It was kind of appropriate for that ride, though. It was a wild one! I was laid off from my regular employment in 93, and worked after season for a few months to barely make ends meet, and I would have stayed and worked there forever, if the pay had been right! I loved working there, miss the good times, and am glad to have been a part of them. There will never be times like those for anyone, anymore. It is a shame that greed for the almighty dollar made a few people afraid to take a chance and keep it going, but I guess people just lost interest in going there. I guess it happens every day though. Still very sad, to say the least.
It wasnt the lost of interest from the daily patrons, you was right about the GREED-the owner of the campers RV being very close by, sold both amusement parks, he's the one you want to do open season on !
Oldguy John RetroLifeStyle actually you can blame Kings Island. After the fire, Kings Island was the place to go. When they reopened, everyone had lost interest and they couldn't afford to stay open.
The sign over the entrance said, "Americana," and never mentioned Las Vegas, Poonville, or Lesourdsville. Why this guy insists on calling it the 1950s name of the town I have no idea.

Sad to see it like this, we had many good times here back in the 1980's & early 1990's.
I believe the first half was Fantasy Farm as it was next to Lesourdsville Lake?
Might be. I've never been there in its prime and only moved here a year ago.

I miss Lasourdsville Lake. Had good times there. I remember when the lake had white sandy beaches! We swam in the lake!
This makes me sad. I could cry watching this. Started going here when it was Lesourdesville Lake . And thought Americana was there to stay.
great video! had a lot of fun at Americana back in the day thanks for sharing
You're welcome.
Awesome capture.
Isolated 666 thank you!
My God what have they done to this park?
For anyone and everyone who is responsible for the closure of lesourdsville Americana you should be ashamed of yourselves

Sorry, no idea what you mean here.
@@chrismullins8061 I went there as a kid in the 70s when it was called LeSourdesville Lake. Most locals remember it as that.
@@BushcraftingBogan so....not "Poonville" then? ;)
@@chrismullins8061 I was as lost as you were. 😆 I was trying to understand the Vegas connection.
@@BushcraftingBogan I’m going to assume “autocorrect”.
