Thank you for the video. It truly breaks my heart to see it almost all gone. I spent many days and summers there as a child and teenager. Worked there as well at both parks. I truly miss it and the kids of today have no idea how much cheap fun we had when we were younger back in the day. Kings island was a little more expensive or well a lot more expensive compared to Americana and we sure had a blast.
My grandmother took me and my cousins here when we were kids back in the 80s. Good times. The shame is not just that this closed, but we don't seem to have many local amusement parks anymore where you can take the family without spending a mortgage payment. Just big, monster theme parks.
I really enjoyed this. Thank you for sharing. That park brings back so many great childhood memories. Sad to see it gone but happy the property is being put to good use.
I miss the park, the Screechin' Eagle was one of the best wooden coasters anywhere. Hard to believe it's about all gone now. There was a unique gift shop type of building just to the right of the entrance gates as you entered the park that's now gone too. It's too bad, as when the park was in its last years of operation, the ceiling tiles were being removed, and the building was being renovated. Above the tiles was the original detailed wooden roof, which looked really fancy and was probably from the 1920's! It was very beautiful, as it was covered all those years from the drop ceiling, a shame that building wasn't saved.
This was the place to go as a teenager and then after having children. So many great memories. It would have been so nice to have a park like we had back then for people closer to them now but happy it is being put to good use.
Fantasy Farm was right next to it. I remember the Uncle Al show was held there one time when I was about 5 years old back in the early 70s and my parents took me there to see it.
My family used to go there when I was in child. Every summer. My dad will pile us up in the family's Pontiac station wagon. My mom will packed up a picnic basket filled with food and a cooler filled of sodas. Good times 😊
I was just there at the new park a few weeks ago and the overhang that housed the one end is still there. Most everything else, even that can be seen in this video, is completely gone.
OK, I have to ask, that HUGE Grassy area!!?? Is THAT where the Lake Was!!??? What, did they Drain it, then Fill it in!!?? LORD I used to love this place!! I've said this before, but I liked the Rides, and Games of course! But my Fav. Part was Riding either the Paddle Boat, or the Train 🚂 back and forth to the old West Town 🤠!!

Man this video still gets to me the music makes my childhood memories come rushing back going there 😔
my whole childhood was spent there it kills me to see such a wonderful fun filled place being reducied to almost nothing.

My Mom's company had their company picnics here for many years back in the 1980's & early 90's, many good times there.

Awesome job thanks for posting this.
This was the poor families Kings Island.. We went there so much we were known by name.
Yep. And you always brought a picnic lunch. Too expensive to buy food there.

It’s weird that the Sky Ride outlasted everything.

I miss Americana and fantasy farm” soooo many years of enjoyment and memories” they will always, be missed-
I can't believe some of the building are still standing. The one with the green roof was the Merry go round I think.
How could you set a responsible destroy such an iconic low-cost enjoyment for families for years

Where is a pic of you running that train?
It was heartbreaking taking 1 last ride on the sky ride in this video...
When was the lake drained?
I was just 13 when it closed for good 😭. It was a good park.
