I started playing oboe last August for school, I have really enjoyed it so far.

Fun video! Looking forward to the swab comparison. I had to replace mine a year or so ago after having the same one for decades (really!) and didn't have a clue as to what to get.

For the cleaning papers I recommend the BG pad cleaner (I don’t know if you’ve seen them before); it is nice and small and it’s made out of cloth so it’s reusable too. It definitely doesn’t replace powder paper but it replaces the pieces of paper I used to carry around!

I've used the BG pad but I found it doesn't absorb water as well as the powdered paper. In the heat of the moment in a concert, I need to get the water out *fast* and that's what the paper does :)

@@oboeari Interesting, I haven't used the pad in general too much as a saxophonist but I'll try to see how it works on oboe!

your oboe got stolen once? I'd like to hear more about that, could you maybe do a storytime about that experience? Did you end up getting your oboe back?

Hi! Would you mind sharing the name of the case around your hard case? I'm looking into getting a new one! :)

Hi Grace! This case is just the standard Howarth double top joint case. I'm sure you can reach out to Howarth to buy a cover liner.
