The reason Agust D didn’t have his head cut off (even tho king Suga wanted to execute him) was because the executioner was part of his rebellion.
In the opening scenes you see Agust d make eye contact with 2 butchers (that scene alone really foreshadowed what would happen) and those 2 are the ones carrying out executions for the king.
From the beginning Agust d planned to overthrow the king and when he entered the palace to purposefully get arrested, it was all so he could get close enough to shoot him.
So in the MV you see Yoongi born as a slave, born in a ditch, and grow a following to the point that he could take the throne by force 🔥🔥

My theory on this MV
-In the past, person with a scar can't be the king (in the movie)so it might represents how powerful he is to be the king with a scar.
- The first scene is when Suga (the king)sit on the throne before he walk and looked at the outside of his palace and saw another Suga (normal person). This reminds me of their journey before they become BTS that we knows. He (the normal person one) walk through the crowd and bump into Jin and he look at him but not recognize him (as an idol) like no matter how many songs he produced but still, no one recognized them at that time.
- The scene when he walks outside the palace and people wearing black are bowing to him. I think those people may represents the haters plus the lyrics in that scene is aboutvthe haters too. Then the lyrics said something like, "the haters deserved to be decapitate" like when the haters got sued by Bighit (seems like the decapitate is represents this??)
-The scene when both Suga meets. This scene has a prisoner and executioner that prepared the sword and shows the king a box (maybe it have a person's head in it??). It represents that Bighit has really sued the haters.
-Then the scene that he praise himself and Bang PD. The lyrics are something like, "The money is continually increases, but Bang PD still dance." I think dance in the lyrics represents that he still working hard despite the money he received.
-And then the scene when Suga was blindfolded and meet another him (the king) represents his struggling and the battle between the present and the past (The one that was blindfolded represents him in the present and the king represents his past that he can't overcome at that time and the media that always find something bad about him and follow him everywhere). Then he make a sign like to slit the throat or something, it probably is a sign to the executioner that he can exucute the one that was blindfolded (probably means that his past is haunted him and kills him from the inside).
-Then the scene that he the executioner killed him?? It represents when BTS thought about giving up.
-The scene that he bobbed his head is when he trying to fight back his own past but got killed in the end.
-Then the scene that he resurrect and then the executioner give the gun to him then he killed the king
represents that he can overcome his past now and is the new him that not afraid of any bad things that will come go him (a gun is more powerful than a sword).
And another theory.
-The king represents the dark power from the influencer (the king barely come out of his palace and just watch people struggling and fighting (Jin and Jungkook). And the people that are against the king are executed (the car infront of the palace that is trying to escape the palace) so no one have courage to be against him. But then Suga (normal person) started to be against him and find the key (may represents the king secret). Then the king knows and demands the executioner to execute him bit it turns out that the executioner is by Suga (the normal person) side and give a gun to execute the king.
And the one that I found on twitter (I found them interesting so, why not) .
-The real king is the black hair one because the scar is already dry but the blond hair one has a fresh wound then the butcher (at the beginning of the MV) is an executioner so he collaborate with the real king to get rid of the fake one. Support reason for this is his clothes. The blond hair's clothes have something weird in it which are the dragon on his clothes. The dragon actually has a meaning too so dragon with 5 toes represents the king but in the MV, the one that he wore only has 4 toes which means the prince.

-Another theory is both black hair and blond hair are the king but in different timeline. Yoongi with dry wound represents the present (AgustD2) and the one with fresh wound represents the past (AgustD1).

-This one is just a fact but anyways... The gun he used in the MV name "Colt Model 1860 Army." It has the word Army so I think it might not be a coincidence. I personally think that it maybe means that the Army is his gun, to kill the fake king or he has overcome his past because of the Army. 💜💜

The clothes he's wearing when he has blonde hair is actually a traditional clothing that only kings could wear. You see like traditionally asians grow their hair long and take care of it which shows rank on society. i can't remember the name of the king way back but he also has a scar. He was actually renowned for his ruthlessness and bravery for breaking the stereotypes of what kings would be. also kings weren't allowed to have scars, but him having a scar shows how powerful he is!
In his other Agust D album there's a track called ''The Last''. he said that "Min Yoongi is dead. I killed him." But this time he killed Agust D (The King) because he doesn't need a persona, like a mask to pretend that he's a celebrity anymore, because the little poor boy that he was just grew up and made it so now Agust D, Suga and Min Yoongi are the same person. It's my version of the MV... Because sometimes celebrity lose who they really are, they're quite like acting in front of the public.
also just a fun fact, yoongi is actually blood relatives with the korea's last empress, so he really is a king!

A historical drama where Yoongi plays the character of the twins: the tryant King Min of Joseon and the rebel brother Yoongi
The reason why they have both have an identical scar in their eye is because they were twins cursed at birth. The scar allows them to feel each other so every time that they're close to each other, their scar throbs painfully. At their tender age, they promised to each other that they would rule side by side but their parents had to separate them for their own good because the pain the scar gives to them was too much. King Min grew up in the palace while the other Yoongi grew up in poverty away from royalty. As young King Min was groomed to be the next King, he saw how his father poorly treated their people which made him think a lot of his brother's condition outside the palace walls. But as time goes by, without the presence of his other brother Yoongi as he grows, he grew more tyrannical and became paranoid from everything so when he has been crowned as the new King of Joseon, the people suffered even more under his rule. On the other hand, Yoongi who is away from the palace, experienced those unfair treatment and became a victim too as he grows, thus this led him to decide and that is to usurped the throne from his brother.
Only his brother can defeat him. And that's how King Min knows his rebel brother Yoongi is on his way to dethrone him.

The theory is that the joseon king yoongi represents his current self who has achieved the big house, car and money and the slave yoongi is his past self before the fame. Slave Yoongi ends up saved from beheading and shoots King Yoongi to represent that he will never loose his old self and won’t be tainted by fame/money/ power. The irony of all this is that yoongi is an actual descendant of royalty from the yeoheung min clan, he’s the grandson of the last empress of Korea. Also the scare along his eyes signifies him breaking the stereotype as you can’t be a king with impurities / imperfection (scar).
I had the feeling this will drop yesterday but the chills I got just listening to it, I’m mind blown 🤯 . There’s so a lot of messages that’s really important in this track and it’s an eye opener to Yoongi’s thoughts right now🙂

The music video is basically telling us that Agust D, Suga and Min Yoongi doesn't want to be the same as other idols. Just like how kings should be perfect in the past. The outfit he is wearing is traditional clothes for kings that are used in the past and the scar on his face symbolises that he doesn't want to be treated the same and also how he wants to be different as anyone else. The part where he shot himself at the end symbolises how he get rids the expectations of others on him. (I got this from another Army from another reaction video and just thought that this would help you guys understand more about the MV)

one of the theories is black haired agust d is the REAL king acting as a poor civilian, and the blonde agust d is the clone/cover up. thats why black haired agust d shot the blonde haired agust d, and since the beheader did not kill him. it was also theorized that blonde haired agust d got greedy and became a FAKE KING, and would kill ANYONE against him. in addition, if the potential fake king has a scar, he would not be able to ascend the throne. however, since blonde yoongi had a scar, he was that powerful to be in that position. and that blonde yoongi had to have that scar too to play the king’s role.
