I love THIS Bailey. She was tough as nails, bad-ass, unapologetically smart, everybody was scared of her.....but she DID have a soft side. She didn't look at Derek or fix him. She just stopped the elevator until he composed himself. No judging. No drama. She was just there...as his friend.
And her interns instead of using her big scary Bailey voice to tell them to stay awake because of rounds she just looks at them and says it in a soft way that isn’t harsh or mean, it felt like she felt bad for them and that it was her job to have them have rounds. And if it was her choice she would have let them go home.
Bailey just stops the elevator and let's him get it out till hes ready to move again. And she doesn't look at him or say a word to him. She's a scary hard ass, but no one is more tactful and mindful than her
To me, he was crying because he told the guy what his fiancee said about "If love were enough...' And he realized that if love were enough he'd be with Meredith and not trying to work things out with Addison for the sake of their vows.
This episode killed me. You can go saying that Doctors don't get attached to patients but you all forget that they are humans too, so it's more like Doctors are not supposed to get attached but they do. And this one was one of the many examples.
the whole moment in the elevator was sweet and amazing and I love it so much but I also love when bailey opens the door she sees her interns on the bench just so tired. she almost kind of looks like she remembers what that’s like and has so much sympathy and respect for them in that moment.
the guy's fiancee died, and derek chose addison over meredeth, and up until now we've seen him basically being a stoic robot...he finally breaks when he is in the elevator with bailey
The time that I realized that Bailey cares about her interns is that scene when she calls for rounds, she could’ve yelled at them but no she quietly said it and it felt like she almost felt bad for them.
Um, I think he's crying because he had to kill a beautiful, charming young woman in order to save the man she was attached to or else they'd both die. His own relationship was just the cherry on top.
Miss this CAST so much The Best Crew out of all the cast of Grey's I don't care if you disagree and callie counts in this group because she was in the early ones too! I love Aarozina, Sloan and Owen but nothing will compare to then! Nah they started Grey's anatomy awesome cast!
This is the Bailey that I fell in love with! Not the one that betrayed Richard and choose to follow protocols and procedures rather than being a human being ..
@xoCherryPink i think it was telling the fiancee 'if love were enough, she'd still be there' that pushed him over the edge because (quel surprise!) it fits so well with what was going on in his life
@@TinyDancer250 I've seen this episode more times that I care to count yet I agree with Erika. Derek was, at the very least, partly crying because he choose his commitment to Addison and yet 'if love was enough' he would've still been with Meredith. Grey's, especially in these beginning seasons was full of subtle cues and symbolism that tied things together, which is what's going on in this moment. It didn't have to knock you over the head with exposition for the viewer to understand that Bonnie was a reflection of Derek and Meredith's relationship. Her death may have been literal but its meaning to Derek was symbolic and that's what made it touch him so deeply.
This episode shows why I did not enter medicine and have no interest. 1. Having to real with very ugly injuries: I have no stomach for that. 2. Having to decide who to save in a situation like that one. 3. Having to break news to someone that their loved one died. 4. Being an intern, on your day off, called to work, put an all nighter, and start your regular shift shortly after as if nothing.
I was ugly crying like a little baby when I first watched this episode because I was in a love triangle where a very dreamy boy with beautiful hair chose his red haired gf over me. I WAS Meredith :D
@Jollyeo I'm going to watch that scene right now.I stopped watching Greys after the end of Season 4.George died,Izzie is no longer there...I loved Izzy.Christina is awesome as is bailey but Izzy is the one I loved the most
Liyah Whitehead Did you watch the episode? He was crying because he just had to tell a young man the farewell of his fiancee who died being slid off the pole, so they could save the guy who still had a shot. For once, it had nothing to do with his women.
Such a beautiful scene. This show really touched well on humanity
I loved this Bailey. What they turned her into so inconsistent with who Bailey was at the beginning of the show.
And her interns instead of using her big scary Bailey voice to tell them to stay awake because of rounds she just looks at them and says it in a soft way that isn’t harsh or mean, it felt like she felt bad for them and that it was her job to have them have rounds. And if it was her choice she would have let them go home.
yess
Loved this about her
Greys... where they have the longest elavator rides
Dani Snot On Fire the saddest is when Derek dies
nope try ncis
🤣
At least she stopped the elevator lmao
And where u can just stop the elevators whenever u want
Bailey just stops the elevator and let's him get it out till hes ready to move again. And she doesn't look at him or say a word to him. She's a scary hard ass, but no one is more tactful and mindful than her
Season 6 ep 2. Situation reversed, same bg music. I love how GA can be so particular
You described her perfectly, I totally agree
She did say "are you okay?"
She’s my favorite character!
I get conflicted that she’s become emotionally inconsistent. Sometimes she’s the old Bailey and sometimes she’s just not the Bailey I’ve come to love.
i LOVE the derek/miranda friendship. its one of the best things about the show cuz they boht look out for each other. its sooo sweet.:)
pocoloki when he holds her when baby tuck is in surgery and she cries I just melt
Yes Derek and Miranda were work-husband and work-wife
Awww , what episode??
To me, he was crying because he told the guy what his fiancee said about "If love were enough...' And he realized that if love were enough he'd be with Meredith and not trying to work things out with Addison for the sake of their vows.
Sheesh a comment from 14 years ago, you still watching?
16 now
.....and if love were enough, he’d still be with Meredith. A clever but sad double meaning.
Charley Farley You are so right!
Love is enough
and that’s why he cried in the elevator 🤦♀️
This episode killed me. You can go saying that Doctors don't get attached to patients but you all forget that they are humans too, so it's more like Doctors are not supposed to get attached but they do. And this one was one of the many examples.
I shouldn't laugh at that unintentional pun....but I will because I gotta ease the pain I got from this scene somehow
Still my favorite episode
Still my favorite episode
@@andreaeverson9083 episode pls ?
@@ablaelouali1368 “Into you Like. A train. Second season
Derek was Bailey's person
Bailey was Derek’s person ...
Webber was bailey's person. Derek's person was bailey.
So sweet
I feel like George could also be baileys person
Tayla C yeah he was her favorite
the whole moment in the elevator was sweet and amazing and I love it so much but I also love when bailey opens the door she sees her interns on the bench just so tired. she almost kind of looks like she remembers what that’s like and has so much sympathy and respect for them in that moment.
I miss the old grey 😢
Little grey ?😳
Me too the show is just not the same these characters have zeros chemistry
blueberrYum12 season 2, something about the quality of the camera, the lines. I don’t know but season 2 was so good
Me too
Yes, I could not agree more
bailey is one great character.
the guy's fiancee died, and derek chose addison over meredeth, and up until now we've seen him basically being a stoic robot...he finally breaks when he is in the elevator with bailey
Derek-bailey elevator scene had only 2 words in the dialogue: ok & yea; yet it was deeeepp
If I was a mechanic at this hospital I wouldn't take elevator stops seriously anymore😂
W a job like that the elevator is the only place you stop and when u stop things hit u. So same lol
The time that I realized that Bailey cares about her interns is that scene when she calls for rounds, she could’ve yelled at them but no she quietly said it and it felt like she almost felt bad for them.
This was the saddest episode I cried so much.
Shayla Hymon the saddest is when Derek dies :(
Actually it’s when George dies
Actually, Grey's anatomy is saddest
Everyone dies ok?
Ifi Pap 💔
i love this show, but it hasn't been the same since they're not interns anymore.
subtle beauty and touching simplicity. the absolute genius of greys anatomy.
Um, I think he's crying because he had to kill a beautiful, charming young woman in order to save the man she was attached to or else they'd both die. His own relationship was just the cherry on top.
It's the Episode with the Train Accident. The girl was stuck on the pipe with the guy and her injuries were to bad for them to save her.
“Into You Like a Train”
My God SUCH A GOOD episode
Love the scene with Bailey and Derek in the elevator!!!
My favorite episode. its a tear jerker and I cry every time I see this episode or hear this song.

dr. bailey is amazing.
and sad derek makes me depressed beyond belief.
This is the Bailey that I fell in love with! Not the one that betrayed Richard and choose to follow protocols and procedures rather than being a human being ..
sometimes that's all you need someone who know you need timeout. No need a talk just a time out
omg I cried because when Derek cries I cry
@crazikals13 yep because if love were enough he would still be with Meredith at this point in the scene
Bailey eventually became Derek's best friend.
this is probably my favorite derek-bailey scene 🥺
Meredith and Derek are the best!
I ♥ Grey's Anatomy................
i'm a man and i got teary eyed
@prawnbutters And then Derek does the same for Bailey in 6x02!! It's like the episode's flipped! =P
@xoCherryPink
i think it was telling the fiancee 'if love were enough, she'd still be there' that pushed him over the edge because (quel surprise!) it fits so well with what was going on in his life
He loved her so much
He's crying because he picked Addison over Meredith.
ErikaToliver You never saw the episode or the first part of this clip.

He really DID have perfect hair.😂
Now I know why Meredith and Hayes never panned out.
It was doomed from the start.
Hahahahahahhaahahhahahaahahhahaah
The fact that I just finished this episode...........
Who's here after watching the latest Meredith and Addison elevator scene?
this scene killed me. so sad. :(
@iinlovejameslafferty It's called Into You Like A Train. Season 2 Ep 6.It's my favourite one next to 17 Seconds.
I think this show is the only one that gives ER a run for its money. Hard to choose which is better.
I love Bailey
