Impossible to describe to someone who was never at a shaka dance what it was like. Unique unique unique nothing like it on earth so grateful to have experienced it.
Guys please believe me this was Shaka all the time ,, it’s been a while since he mashed up the dance but I seen him all over this nation playing like this a yes thank god that I been here the same time as this man ,,can’t you see he has a touch of god in him ,that’s why he’s perfect at what he does ,,and he done this through many years of dance hall,,I used to look at my younger generation thinking they must think I’m Shaka crazy but today we are all in the ghetto Shaka done this ,he gained a following over years of people talking about Shaka sessions ,you must see a learn that the message is powerful and love and peace and education,,,love people bless
Be happy to hear this man back in the day ,it was recorders like size of petrol tanks ,so please respect to hear history cos what’s done is done ,ain’t no going back ,happy the life you live,,,,,mores the Pity
Big respect to Jah Shaka for carrying the roots torch forward and educating the people for so long about this greatest of music. I have to say however that for many people who have discovered the music in the last 20 years or so they seem to believe that Shaka is the only sound in England of any distinction. As someone who played sound from 1975 - 1990 and went to hundreds of sessions during that time there were many sounds who contributed greatly to the musical pot. Sir Coxsone, Jah Tubby, President Sound, Jungleman, Baron Hi Fi, Wassifa, Quaker City....the list goes on and on - the sound system scene was much more than just one sound system and that should be remembered and celebrated.
Me inna sound business from 70's and yes nuff sounds in England for true, think the johnny come latelies talking of 2000 and onwards they don't really understand so forgive them
When are we gonna get a proper SHAKA DVD featuring the man himself telling his own story - beginnings, playing live, studio work, releases, etc. That story has not been told yet!
i remember this session well the crowd was a bit quiet all night then people just get uplifted big time all together by this last crucial dub. only shaka does that. although the best tune that night for me was roots natty congo, available on a sipacup EP. give thanks for sharing this in good quality
U remember shaka playing one away. It's mid range pure instrument then the DUB. 3 pieces .if you lucky. Then other sounds would adopt, same style in 90s .by then when shaka put on a 1away, it was in your face. Crowd dopamine levels sky rock." BLAST OF. simply years ahead. SHAKA was. Hype park, and he ain't coming!!!😮😮
Well after seeing and hearing this Shaka session I'll find it hard to watch any other session that will give such fullfilment. Last tune please for me too if any ideas. Raspec!
@hb03ss 1st tune is rise and shine by bunny wailer, 3rd tune is babylon kingdom falling dubplate by sugar minott, 4th is roots natty bongo by earl 16, thats as much as i know!
