In the past we needed to make tabsend~ , tabreceive~ and an accompanying array ( in the array you can actually see the 1 unit sample move ) . Now feedback only requires Send~ , Receive ~ ( for the feedback loop ) and block~ 1 Use a phasor~ into cos~ as an operator. Duplicate it , send one back to itself ( +~ )using the method described and we get genuine yamaha style phase modulation fm feeedback synthesis Fwiw yo can also use the vexpr~ module , which also calculates on a a persample basis and allows feedback but is pretty cpu hungry

Plugdata (a fork of puredata) Is free, open source, and actually developed by a few people who were on the team developing MAX
