If I was a millionaire I would invest in this channel, to make it way more visible and successful than many other competitors which don't deserve much fame, in comparison.

Jono - another fantastic lesson! Did you know that in track view, you can click once, hold, and sweep horizontally across tracks to turn plug-ins on/off, solo, mute, etc. It might save you a zillion clicks over the next ten years! Knowing your teaching style, I am guessing that you did know this, but you are keeping it simple and obvious. FYI: your recording and mixing live master session from last year was a game changer and you should be knighted for it.

I have to make a comment here. As a composer writing for live orchestras, who now needs to be able to master his own midi demos, etc. I've been watching Jono Buchanan for about a week now, and learning a lot from this channel.
The thing is, I prefer the strings before the EQ. They sound warmer and more natural. When I'm working with samples I'm always trying to get that live sound, as warm and rich and compelling as a real instrument in a real hall. I really felt like my ears were at odds with Jono on this video. When he soloed the strings I thought: No! That sounds too thin! But listening to the final, I realize he has in fact made an improvement. The final mix is smoother, and, strangely, the strings don't _sound_ thin in context with the drums, only by themselves.
So, I'm not sure I'm hearing things the way a producer hears things. I'm not sure if my ears are tuned the right way, but I did hear at the end that in aggregate, an improvement was made to the sound.
Thank you again for all the great videos. Very informative and thought-provoking.

Thank you for this really good tuition, would be even better if you used Logic's own stock EQ.

Very nice. Using iPhone earbuds, I can really hear the differences when eq is in and out. On my studio monitors though I may not be able to hear it as well. So I’m guessing eq ing with your eyes comes in handy most of the times.
