    Female attempts beep test for paras
    Due to social distancing the Beep Test has been put in place to replace the 2km run (for now). Both test the same, your aerobic capacity, so you need to put the same work in and get the tick in the box.
    Hopes this eases your anxiety so you can smash it...
    Good luck....Fabziy "One in All in"

    Full marks for effort. I always enjoy seeing someone trying to achieve their full potential. It is to be encouraged and applauded. I feel nothing but pity for the negative comments, from arm chair athletes, that could not run a bath.

      The beep test is very deceptive watching it on-line. I thought that it would be a “push over” but what a “sharp shock” my whole body received I was huffing and puffing and for weeks was unable to pass or mastered phase 1:
      I have now added hills runs to quickly strengthen my lungs because I OVERCAME Covid-19 and included some knee strengthening exercises.

      The added beauty of doing this training is my body losing the FAT and I feel lighter 😳😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🌹🌷🌸🌺.

      BD18 I agree everyone has there own level and pace but if you are planning on joining the army and then you fail fitness at the assessment you should really start taking it seriously, the standards have dropped massively and for people to have months practice n still fail just shows a lack of effort.

      Agreed. Also, alongside the effort taken for the muscles to move larger weights on these runs, you also have to appreciate the fact that muscle mass is expensive. I'm 110kg and looking to drop to sub 100kg for selection, but I was 120kg 3 months ago, and feel the difference big time when it comes to energy required to move nowadays

    You’ve done a great job showing what training is like an such but I’m wondering if you could show us what a day in the life is like maybe 2 years in? For instance, what you would be doing as a soldier around the camp and daily duties etc or even for a specialist role such as air core pilot. I’m really wanting to become a pilot in the air core and just wondering what day to day life would be like when you’re not flying around in expensive tech. Or even what it would be like as an infantry soldier after training? Thanks

    A lot of Para training is not really about physical strength. It's more about mental strength. The ability to keep going when you're absolutely spent. You have to imagine your being chased by the enemy and if you stop you'll be captured. That's really the mentality behind the training. They were dropped by parachute behind enemy lines etc. They are not regular infantry.

    If you fail the beep test when you first arrive at basic. Do you get sent home or do you just do extra PT/ training ? Because I definitely prefer the 1.2 mile run and only get to 7.5 ( which I know is a pass for CMT but ye just in case )

    • @park_rat_matt

      5 years ago when I was doing infantry basic at itc catterick. There were loads of people in my platoon who didn’t meat the initial run time requirement. They just had to work extra hard in PT’s and getting beasted more by the screws.

    • @YeNZeC
      @YeNZeC 3 года назад +1

      You won't get sent away, you'll perhaps be put into a platoon of injured people, the ones who are fit and healthy do extra PT. More then likely you'll be kept in your platoon and just have to work hard in PT. You'll make it harder for yourself, try hit Basic at a high level of fitness.
