- Honestly I personally wanted to see how my miter tile would hold up! I wanted to test my shower curb. In all of our tile shower jobs we always have the curb to consider and what materials best to use. This tutorial will show you which is best looking and which is strongest. I will make another video on how to tile a shower curb.
Good to know. The aluminum edging is super popular in Europe, starting to see a lot more of it here.
Would really like to see a job from start to finish. Easiest way to do a walk in shower for the average joe. Everything from floor pan to backer board to tile.
I love the hint of regret in your voice over miter not being as strong, but i'm just starting tile work last year and taking practice and working on attempting the miter joint. I still have to free edge or metal trim it but thank you im still learning and getting better.
Just keep pushing! It’s not as hard as it looks. Just need to practice
Cant wait to use that level next time!
Great Test!! Note to self. Don't wear tool pouch in shower!!
I was thinking of using the quartz curb top, with a routered out groove for the fixed glass panel, what do you think ??
Great content, its something differend .
Keep up the good work👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
What do you like to fill your mitres with? Do you think epoxy makes it stronger?
Do you think you could do more videos on good things to have as someone trying to get into this line of work even if it for personal use.
I will with time! I’m new at this and it’s very time consuming
Check out the Perkins brothers building channel. They do houses from start to finish and film allot of it. It's more carpentry based with some masonry, plumbing and roofing. We need more young men in the trades. You can make real good money if you ain't afraid to work. What trade are you thinking about?
The mitre cuts look the best. No one should be in the bathroom with something that heavy, unless there doing work😁
Real life though outside of during the construction of the shower none of that stuff will happen and in my opinion the mitered edges look by far the best.
Engineered stone is the best of these. It may have broken but you have waterproofing issues with the other
I've been waiting for this!
I put a lot of time into it!
@@WINNI.Designs I'm glad you did. Those mitered edges look great
Thanks for your testing 👍
My shower wall and bathroom floor tile are different. Which do I put on the outside and inside of the curb?
Wall field tile
Guess the homeowner brings all theyr tools into the shower to clean them LOL...
I prefer the monolithic sill. They get a ton of direct water and you wont have grout lines to allow water penetration. You can drill 9/10's into it for door hardware and not compromise your waterproofing. and the groute likes remind me of tile countertops. They can look nice but always have that "I was too cheap to buy stone" look about them.
Mama I’m in love with a contractor man 😂
Good video. I learned not to drop shiz on my tile.
Yeah me too!
That’s not how we take care stabila .
What is the first one called
I make my curbs out of bricks and use metal edging it looks way cleaner even around windows and all around
2:18 you totally messed up that expensive stabila 😔
Still think miter cut looks the cleanest. I dont know anyone who brings hammers and crowbars into the shower with them so I'd imagine they'd be fine.
That’s my conclusion as well. I love the mitered look. And happy that something like a 2x4 didn’t damage it
Schluter curbs are not worth it they break some many shower jobs I’ve done cracked or crushed
