To close out 2016, our moviemaker Radosław "MAKKU" Makuch put together a highlight reel of the ten best plays of the year, according to HLTV.org staff members.
While saying our final goodbye to 2016, we are ready to present you the annual HLTV.org Top 10 Highlights video, a compilation of the finest plays of the year.
To decide upon the ten best highlights and the order in which we rank them, HLTV.org's staff has rewatched and rated the most memorable plays of 2016. As a result, we have narrowed the list down to the actions you can find in the video below.
Similarly to last year's compilation, not a single player has managed to get two highlights, and only one event-MLG Colombus-provided two plays that ended up in the Top 10.

Agreed with p3ace n3rd agreement. But I think hen1's last second wall bang clutch deserved to be there much more than this clip.

The video is called Top 10 highlights not Top 10 round winning highlights, wouldn't matter if he won or not. Also from the other clips and the placings they got that clip even within it's context in the game is way better than many of the clips in this video.

Fallen 1 vs 4. Clutch against Navi?
I feel like other clips are pure skill and hard work and then there's coldzera's lucky jumping noscope. ;_;
s1mple's clip is also lucky too.
and actually Zews said coldzera knew a bug that helped with mid air accuracy, and months later people discovered the bug. Lots of pros were trying it while streaming, reddit went nuts with a new thread about it every hour.

That bug wasn't even real in the end, the only thing that was exploitable was that if you fell and counter strafed or fell without moving then you could shoot accurately in mid air
What is the bug you are talking about? Is it similar to scout jumping accuracy being calculated incorectly for a long time?
FalleN 1v4 was easily the best play of the year, but it's not even in this top10

But just "good" plays are not enough to get into the top 10, but i do agree the 1v4 clutch vs lg shoulda been there.
For me Snax should've been number one as his play included way more skill level than coldzera's. Not taking away that cold is an amazing player too ofc.
Tbh most people don't judge a play on how much skill it took, but rather how unlikely it was to happen.
And that's a shit way to judge clips. Let's judge movies based on how unlikely the things happening in them are then too.
I never said it was a good way, but we all love clips which had a 1/100 chance of happening.

"Most sick", using "pronounce" to refer to a supposed error in typed spelling, using commas and full stops indiscriminately to separate incoherent and irrelevant phrases, "cant". Overt display of being emotionally effected by a reasonable statement of fact.

I feel like you should have included Fallens 1v5 where he kills his teammate and then clutches it with insane flick, even tho the last guy kills him but still winds the round

The title of this video is ,,HLTV.org's Top 10 highlights of 2016".
A decent definition of a highlight - something (as an event or detail) that is of major significance or special interest.
Even though the AWP jump shot was a pure luck, it still was a huge highlight. The casters & the crowd went crazy, the biggest CS frag movie youtubers made a clip about the play and i'm sure it was the "play of the weak" on ESL etc...
In the description of this video it says: ,,To decide upon the ten best highlights and the order in which we rank them, HLTV.org's staff has rewatched and rated the most memorable plays of 2016." The play by Cold was VERY memorable.
Kukli's jumpshot vs Virtus.pro (not this year though) was a huge highlight even if it was pretty lucky. It was in the last round of the game and that shot won them the game (and the whole major if I remember correctly).
Coldzera made this play when Liquid were winning like 15-11 (or something close to that) and it destroyed Liquids economy. LG (Now SK) eventually won the game, and this play from Cold was an important factor in the comeback.
Why is that number 1? It was literally RNG that he got the 2nd and 3rd kills.

Why Hiko 1v4 against low hp players instead of Shox 1v4 (Anders Reaction +10000) or shox pistol 1 taps with USP both against LG.

karlisabc well you have to think about context, this was in the semi final of a major and they needed something because it was match point and Cold got lucky and we know the story from there

In all honesty, altough Coldzera shot was amazing, it was INCREDIBLY lucky for him to kill two players in one shot while in air. It defienetly deserves to be in top5, but I don't know if was the best highlight considering the randomness of the shot.

shox's 1v4 wasn't there because he did it a couple times
