It is an absolute peak boss when learned properly, yeah she hits like a truck but massive kudos to From Software for designing a knight-type main boss for Elden Ring.
Its a horrible boss. If tou want yo solo her while only dodging her and doing only basic hits then it is almost impossible unless you want to do 100 attempts to learn some of her bs patterns that are 20 hit non stop combos. Then you end up doing 300 damage once in 5 minutes. And ger attacks are hard to telegraph. You cant see when the first attack ends and the next one starts and you have a milisecond of time to dodge. She is hardeer in that than any base game boss. And not in a fun way. But in a broken and unbalanced way.
@@GG-fi4ye I would say she is overtuned, but saying you don’t want to learn her attacks then that’s lazy on your part, and collect the Scadutree Fragments to buff your character.
@@Hiroyuka00 managed to beat her by luck, I downloaded some footage and found out that getting frame drops in phase 2 made my rolls not trigger for some reason, I really need a new pc xD
Fighting her as a magic damage build is PAIN and this helped me realize that, i deal so so little damage, I'll try swapping my damage type, or even my build temporarily to see if that helps

@@MadameRouzgar I just beat her with a pure int Claymore and Carian retaliation, are you sure your stats are not too thinly spread (if you focus magic damage heavily she still takes a lot from parry)
apparently most people who fought her was using Scadtree blessing 4+, im only 2+ literally about two hits kill me, if not i only have about a toothpick of health. still on her now and am using the zwheinder with the buckler with the golden parry on it and ive just been dying repeatedly trying to parry her perfectly.
There was a talisman or ash of war that came with this DLC I remember hearing about which perfect blocks if timed right. I can't find it anywhere. Edit: I found it, its a crystal tear that you get from defeating the Furnace Golemn found North of 'Scorched Ruins' Site of Grace in the Gravesite Plain area.
Here were 4 hours of suffering with: Rlvl 110 mlady +13 Lightning Golden Parry Dex 22 + 10 Crystal tear + lightning tear Talisman Dagger, Crimson Dagger, Axe and Erdtree +1 It was horrible but satisfying, ggs!
Guess i just get punished, she only does side step attacks when i get my first parry off, which have a parry timing that doesnt match their animation making them extremely hard to time, especially for someone used to parrying already with good attacks Not only that, half the time it just doesnt register my parry input when she does a side step, and i just walk forward like a dumbass
i struggled with her. My main character's on NG+ 5 lvl 250 and she kills me after only 2 hits lol. I had to respec and increase my vigor from 60 to 75 just to survive more than 2 hits xD.

I think it is too fast to dodge roll this attack, but it is doable; just too hard to notice fast enough while trying to parry all of her different moves

I dont understand how to parry this guy, its not like i suck at parrying because i did Death Knight and Blackgaol Knight with parries only, and in the base game I always parry crucible knights as well. But for this guy my parries just dont seem to connect. Anyone know what the deal is?
it is just muscle memory tbh, it is hard but after a while it becomes not so bad if she moves her sword below that is how you know, you wait just a slight moment to parry, quite fast so it is hard
All I remember from this fight is that my mimic and that lady-knight killed her while I was shifting through spells and incantations to find something that works... Idk why everyone cries about this DLC and how hard it is, with those fragments you can build yourself to be on the same level pretty fast. Btw, that knight summon with two swords that is constantly aggressive, almost can kill this boss alone... You just circle around and jump 3 times when those balls fall.
Carian Retaliation, it can also parry spells if you 'catch' the projectile in the blue orb effect and grants you 3 spell daggers. Dagger looks to be a Misericorde. Incantations he is using is Bloodflame Blade and Flame, Grant Me Strength. Source: Been doing the same build for DLC Run
I would either use this or buckler parry itself with no ash of war on it. Difficulty is similar with buckler parry, not 100% sure right now; they actually buffed the buckler parry latest patch

If you're struggling, summon Leda, she takes aggro pretty well so you can go in and out since shes also really tanky
