Oh wow I was just watching your uploads of Bernadette in Mack and Mabel and Song and Dance from all those years ago when I found this wonderful new gem this evening - with you still here! The love for Bernie is evidently strong...and you are correct indeed - she's incredible.
@@louisasnape6278 How nice of you to comment. Delighted to hear you were able to find Bernadette singing "Time Heals Everything" in '74 and then again here, 46 years later.
@@auroraspiderwoman5886 Me too! I can't truly believe it's been that many years. She really just transcends time. I wish so much I could have seen her on the stage and in a show!
Bernadette looks and sounds incredibly healthy! At 72, her voice is impeccable. Absolutely no trace of wobble whatsoever, clear pronunciation, open nasality and no disgusting belting all over the place. That's what serious technic and healthy body care and trainging brings : LONGEVITY!!!
To be blunt Theo, you need your hearing checked. But with respect, compare this performance with her others of the same song, from 15-20 years ago, and her voice CLEARLY isn't 'impeccable' any longer. "No trace of wobble whatsoever?" That's just flat out not true. Also compare her performance to that of Leslie Uggams in this same tribute -- who is 77 by the way -- and still sounds amazing, ALMOST as good as she did 20-30 years ago. We have to stop expecting these performers to sing just like they did when they started...
@@DDumbrille I have to agree. I love Bernadette’s voice and I love this song, but it’s simply not true to say her voice is as good as it used to be. It’s an inevitable result of ageing. She can still sing but not like she could.
@@sheilas1283 Thank you Sheila. I understand it in a way, but man, people get SO upset and defensive if one states the obvious. People just can't go on singing forever. So many of the greats kept going waaaay past their prime -- I'm guessing mainly because their managers and/or agents encouraged them by telling them they sounded 'better than ever'. Nonsense. I hope Ms. Peters recognizes this reality and embraces it, for she has NOTHING to prove. She's one of the best, and has a long history that proves it.
@@DDumbrille Her voice has definitely deteriorated, but that does not mean her performance has. Take a look at those clips from 15-20 even 30 years for the original album in 1974,( yes I have), and this woman is producing with a far more moving, more poignant interpretation. What she has lost in her voice, she seems to have gained in maturity. This song is in more experienced hands now. Peters the actress, is singing this at a Memorial Celebration. We feel the pain in that lyric more now.
@@yamirdememos5877 Boomer???... is that your way of saying you are just another low intellect millennial? Hasn't anyone told you yet calling someone "boomer" is a lame, nonsensical retort?
That’s her true voice, it’s what makes her so legendary, plus her incredible acting and the legit emotion she delivers that makes her truly feel, like the character she plays.
Many thanks for posting this---she still owns the song.

She wasn't jus singing that for Mr. Herman, she was singing it *to* him. BRAVO!!!!
Nonsense, she is singing it for herself
