- Nicholas Winton was a British humanitarian who organized the rescue of 669 children, most of them Jewish, from Czechoslovakia on the eve of the Second World War in an operation later known as the Czech Kindertransport (German for "children's transport").
Dubbed by the British press the "British Schindler," Winton found homes for the children and arranged for their safe passage to Britain.
The world only found out about his work over 50 years later, in 1988.
How is this not a goddamned movie already? Good lord!

Dude's an absolute hero
Good man. Amazing man. The story and his reaction to all of the survivors standing up put a tear in my eye. And the fact that he didn't boast about it for 50 long years just shows the class of the man. He helped the kids without any selfish reason. Lots of love from Pakistan 🇵🇰
He lived to the age of 106, it's almost as if he was given a little extra time to live for each life he helped save.

My eyes welled up the moment that lady sitting right beside him was brought to Sir Nicholas Winton's attention. Your spirit will always live on! All respect to you sir. I would have stood in line for over a week just for the chance to shake hands with Sir Nicholas Winton. This story brings faith that Humanity will survive the miss deeds brought on by a different generation of people. I cried, watch again, an cried again . The story makes my heart sing. Ive seen this about 4 times over the last 10 years and completely takes all my emotions more and more and more each time. What a Man , What an Act of Selflessness and to boot he kept it all to himself for so long. Respect to 'Thats Life' as well. My favourite programme growing up.

God's miracles manifested in some of His creation. He has welcomed Nicholas back with Wide Proud open arms. What a God sent man. Yet so humble. And through him, many children got their second chance in life. To live and procreate and tell the miraculous story of how one man made a difference between life and death for 669 children.
