- Here is a property that we purchased 10 months ago. Thanks to bad contractors, its still not finished and our budget is shot. No way we can make money on this project now. VET YOUR CONTRACTORS!!

Title should read, ‘cheap investors expect 30k of work done for 10k’ lol 😂
Tell the owners to stop being cheap and hire real contractors... don't complain when you really think your getting a whole house done for 10k
Exactly. Well said 👍
Yea, I would never take this job. House is a crapshow.
Not positive, but, it's almost guarnateed that they went w/the cheapest bid.......Flippers/Investors are notorious for this.
Did he say 20,000 dollars in work left 😆 🤣 you investors must want taco bell contractors
I’ve been building and remodeling houses for 25 years. I hate to tell you. But you have a lot more than 20k worth of work left.
A prime example of why people should not flip houses. Don't fix anything right, just hide with paint and cover up.
Yes! Bad contractors LOVE to paint. If it was up to them, they'd paint before cleanout/demo is even finished.
I wouldn't want to buy a flip house. I actively avoided any that looked to be or were advertised to be "recent remodels." No fucking thanks!
“If you want it done right do it yourself”!
$20k worth of work left?? Dude you’re out of your mind! Try $150-200k !!! This is what happens when cheap ass owners hire cheap ass contractors, who have no clue. Get what you paid for.
I guarantee this guy didn’t hire a Legitimate contractor to do the work. He probably hired someone off the street and said yes I can do that for as cheap as possible
I was thinking $75k to 100k but it's Detroit so maybe $20k goes a long way. I'm on the east coast . I wouldn't even bring my tools into yhsg neighborhood for less than $100k .
It still looks like an abandoned house.
Buddy that's a big job probably 75 to 100 thousand dollars and maybe they are working across the street because that house has heat you can't mud and paint in 0 degrees
Reputable contractors don’t work with home flippers or investors ……it’s impossible that a real contractors was hired in this house.
Gooooood luck with that
That was probably 100,000 dollar job and he paid the contractor $20,000. And that’s what happens when you take the lowest bid
Hello from queens ny
Cheapest price is always a bad choice
Just because something was just redone doesn’t mean it was done right. Always get an inspector that you nor the real estate agent knows. It may be tough to find and may cost a little more but it’s worth it. You’ll thank me later. You don’t want an inspector that’s your buddy because he thinks he’ll be doing you a favor and you don’t want him to know the owner or the agent because he’ll be doing them favors. You want to know exactly what you’re buying. Good and bad points. Home warranty doesn’t cover everything like you think it does.
This has to be a joke
That's horrible
Why are you using knotted pine for trim ?? Cheap as hell 😮💨😞😞😞
Should be called bad flipper
What ever happened to this project? I’m curious…..
Just in the first minute on the outside view that is the worst attempt of construction rehab I've ever seen😂😂😂😂
Just simple, bad flipper.
Detroit? I can only imagine who these contractors were. Just what type of labor force is left in a city that has been largely abandoned? Burned down, torn down, who would remain to work on the leftovers? Anyone with any sense and skill would have left years ago.
You can’t do a whole house for 10k your looking at 50-100k to do it right
this property had an $80k budget. Still looks like this....
Contractors probably walked off because its sub zero , lol. You said yourself there is no furnace and you can't feel your fingertips, haha. Yea Contractors love to paint because when stupid homeowners see paint on the wall , then they cough up more cash because it looks finished, lol. It's all psychological.
Looks like a cheap bid from a poser contractor that looks like a you problem if he walked and if he was a contractor you should be able to go after them
Get what you paid for🤷♂️ and just one more advised don’t put tile on the drywall. I feel bad for the person was going to buy this house
this is all the fault of the owner. You should be on the job every other day checking on progress and quality.
I hired a project manager to do just that. Unfortunately, I hired the wrong one. These guys should not have been getting paid for the work they did. I'm managing all of my projects now to avoid this.
Why does none of the fault lie with the contractors who got paid for the work though??
Bad contractor strikes again that means u looking for the cheapest labor who is here to blame
You are the boss ??!!
Well wtf 🤬 The his is on you .!!?? Where you sitting having coffee while this shitshow was happening ??!!
So they work with out heat u lucky they did some work
U get what u pay for
If that’s a rental then that’s not too bad but if that was my personal house I’d rip all that drywall off EVERY BIT and start over
Horrible job!
Where were you and who supervised while contractors are on the job site. You have to be there directing the job dude this is kinda on you
Do your homework when hiring contractors! You get what you pay for when you Don't Do Your Homework!!!!
Stop being cheap, holy shit.
This guy's problem is that he is in Detroit .
Be very careful/aware when you buy a house that’s just been rehabbed. If you ever do one thin
