      @@GaryFerraro what do you think about the trans go kit self expanding seal vs a stock underdrive seal with a new piston, I'm working on one that may have had an underdrive seal issue had the self expanding installed. On a 2000 Grand Caravan 3.8 with 41TE I got a P0740 in 2014. I changed the solenoid pack but the code kept coming back. So for the next 5 years I was able to pass the annual inspection by clearing all DTCs then spending a few hours doing varying drive cycles while staying below 50 mph (which was the speed at which the DTC would set). Five years later, after completing a 300+ mile highway trip, the DTC cleared on it's own and hasn't come back in 5+ years. Kinda bizarre.

    • @GaryFerraro
      @GaryFerraro  Месяц назад

      that is, have you scanned the car to confirm that?

    • @dricklorenz9340
      @dricklorenz9340 Месяц назад

      @@GaryFerraro I was using an old Snap-on MT2500 until I got a mid tier TopDon a couple of years ago. The P0740 never showed up again after it cleared on that trip in 2019. A P1776 in 2021 was fixed with another solenoid pack. And a P1792 (battery disconnected) shows up occasionally. The only data that ever seemed out of spec is the UD CVI was 115 in 2021 and is 122 today. I will also find a small drip of ATF showing up in the location of the torque converter. But the fluid level barely drops over time and it's clean. There has never really been any driveability issues that I've noticed.

    • @GaryFerraro
      @GaryFerraro  Месяц назад

      @@dricklorenz9340 Thats high CVI Value, That should be around 40 or 50. The O/D clutch is usually that high

    • @dricklorenz9340
      @dricklorenz9340 Месяц назад

      @@GaryFerraro Yeah OD has been between 111 and 131 which is within the spec of 48 - 150. But the UD readings are definitely 115 - 122 (outside the 24 - 70 spec) because both the TopDon and Snap-On have always shown the same readings. But without knowing these numbers I don't think a driver would suspect any transmission issue.

    What do the bat wings do ? Also would a bad range sensor cause no reverse ?

    • @GaryFerraro
      @GaryFerraro  10 месяцев назад

      Bat wings keeps the cross pin in place, the roll pin would break and the cross pin would come out and break the case. Could cause no reverse, look at a scan tool see if it reading correctly
