I use my drill to slowly turn the rings. I put the biggest drill bit on and put kitchen towel and tape to hold it on there. I got about 7 rings on there. It works for me👍
I use a cordless drill so I can stand the drill on a flat surface. I use tape on the trigger buy wrapping it around. You can do it so it goes around slow. When I finished and all cured I pull the battery off and put the battery back on when ready to do the next batch.
When I am doing rings, I take several skinny Popsicle sticks and rubber band them together. I use as many as it takes to slide the ring on firmly. Based on the ring size, you add or take away. I use a pool noodle on my cup turner and rubber band the Popsicle sticks to that. Works great (for me). 😊
OMG YES! I love this thank you Steve! You are rockin' the UV resin and epoxy resin world with your talent and down to earth, & honest personality! Love ya!🥰
I love the tip to use the mirror on the other side of the cure so that it reflects back! You are getting twice as much bang for the buck, reflections of lights increasing the intensity however much is certainly beneficial. Thank you. I am thinking of investing in some of this color changing powder. Thank you again!
What a brilliant idea!!! I have several of those rings to make different kinds … I have to get some of that thermochromatic powder and give that a go! Thanks for the idea Steve!!!!
Great video, as always. I just wanted to say that if you use the mirror under the uv lamp be careful and don’t look at it because you could damage your eyes.
You have such a likable personality. Wish you the best and thanks for a great video! I couldn't find anything on thermochromic resin casting but you explained it perfectly. Cheers
Omg! I totally bought those colors a couple weeks ago and just started using my mirror around the same time because I always seem to pour too deep with uv and it helps cure the bottom just as quickly
You are so much fun to watch and you’re like me. I spelled something every time someday I’m gonna drop the whole thing of resin on my gorgeous carpet then I’ll quit doing it lol lol never never will. I quit just kidding.
Hey, just a quick suggestion…. When you use the mirror to reflect that light, you should put a cover over and block that light from hitting you in the face, ie your eyes… I have PERMANENT damage to my eyes, especially the left one because I was getting hit in the eyes from the reflection of that UV light… even the brief shine and immediately looking away, it was enough that I have permanent scarring in my eyes… my eye doctor asked me if I had been looking up into the sun directly and I said no, why? And he said because you have scarring from uv burns and I literally sucked in my breath and he asked me me what was wrong and I told him I use a uv light to cure uv resin and I had been using a mirror to reflect the light to get the bottom of the pieces to cure… he told me to put a cover over the light before using it from now on otherwise I was going to go completely blind! I now have dark spots and what reminds me of floaters that obscure my vision 😢😢😢😢😢…. So, BE CAREFUL USING THAT MIRROR!!!!
It is really fun to mix thermochromic and photochromic (changes in light) colors together - not sure how that would work with UV, but it can be really fun.
I love these! If you can get it in the UK, Liquid Crystal from Solar Color Dust is a really cool product, if you haven't heard of it. I believe there's one that changes through 6 different colors and another that changes through 12 different colors
OMG that mirror trick is brilliant!! i will try that out next time i'm using UV resin. Also thanks for telling us about the jdiction resin, it's absolutely the best UV resin i've used.
Thanks Steve. I love UV resin & any tutorial on it is so helpful. I thought everything had to be translucent so I only added uv resin tint. I’m very happy to hear new things I can use. Opened a whole new world to me.
I came across this video after watching many of your other videos. Looking for a craft that the special education students at our local high school can make to sell to raise funds for their prom in spring 2024. Mood rings were very popular in the 70's here in the U.S., thinking it might get the attention of the students and teachers. I am waiting for the supplies to arrive and I will try to make a few myself to see if it's something the students can do also. Thank you in advance. Love your channel. Aloha from Hawaii.
Thanks to your amazing 1st ring video i made me n hubby matching wedding rings but i used my cup turner and normal resin, as i seem to have a really bad reaction to the uv sadly but its still thanks to your great video so thanks steve
I am so excited that you did that! I asked you a few videos back when you used that if you could make mood rings! THANK YOU for showing that! Beautiful! ❤ Happy you sold them all! Hope you have a fantastic day, Steve! I don't have a dowel but I do have a ring shaper ( it's heavy & metal) , can that be used?
Would you ever think of doing a video comparing the Let's Resin Mica, Let's Resin Chameleon Flakes, and Let's Resin Duos? I just ask because I have messed with flakes before and I find the to be a right pain in my a..... uh bottom. I think they don't cover well, but I didn't know if I was doing something wrong.
Steve, how are you able to get the thermo powder? When I click on your link it brings me to Lets Resin US. Can I get them anywhere else that will deliver to Ireland 🇮🇪 😊
Ive a quick question for you Steve or for anyone who knows...I recently purchased the "new formula" Jdiction UV resin (obvi hard formula) Will that work with these heat affected powers (which i HAVE TO try so I ordered them last night😊) OR will I do best with the OG formula Low Vis UV and the OG High vis UV to dome? Thanks in advance. I often buy you coffees Steve as your experiments help me avoid costly mistakes. Cheers as always! ~yvette in the deep & dirty south 🇺🇸 😂
I have had problems with curing when I use darker mica powder. Sometimes I don’t find out until I drill a hole in my piece & uncured resin starts coming out of the hole. I do try to cure in layers. Any suggestions?
Omg, the mirror tip with the light is absolutely pure genius! Thank you to the member that suggested that
I love that! Pure genius! Thank you whoever you are!
I use my drill to slowly turn the rings. I put the biggest drill bit on and put kitchen towel and tape to hold it on there. I got about 7 rings on there. It works for me👍
How do you get your drill to turn slowly enough? I fear I would just spin off everything.
I use a cordless drill so I can stand the drill on a flat surface. I use tape on the trigger buy wrapping it around. You can do it so it goes around slow. When I finished and all cured I pull the battery off and put the battery back on when ready to do the next batch.
Love em Steve!!! 💜💙✌

Im loving the mood rings and the mirror trick.

Wow these are terrific Steve, I have some ring blanks so I should have a go at them 😊
These r quite pretty 😍
Very fascinating!

Great video, as always. I just wanted to say that if you use the mirror under the uv lamp be careful and don’t look at it because you could damage your eyes.
Thanks for the update! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Congratulations on the great sales! All that jewelry was gorgeous!
So much fun to watch.
I love the mirror tip, thanks for sharing that tip
You have such a likable personality. Wish you the best and thanks for a great video! I couldn't find anything on thermochromic resin casting but you explained it perfectly. Cheers
Love the mirror tip and also very excited about the rings as I've never known how to make them!!
Omg! I totally bought those colors a couple weeks ago and just started using my mirror around the same time because I always seem to pour too deep with uv and it helps cure the bottom just as quickly
I've been using the pigments on my bigger molds, don't know why I never thought about doing jewelry.. duh!!! Love your videos!
Flash back to my teen days! 😂
You are so funny. I love watching your videos. Thanks for sharing your talent!
What???? Mood rings are heat reactive?
😱😱😱😱
I always thought they were magic.... You've shattered my illusion!!😂😂
Just bought those pigments! The mirror trick is clever 😀. As always thanks so much for sharing!
What a great idea! I always wanted a mood ring when I was younger. Thank you Steve 😊!!!
I found some little plastic pieces that look similar to flat glass marbles and they are glow in the dark! How fun!
You are so much fun to watch and you’re like me. I spelled something every time someday I’m gonna drop the whole thing of resin on my gorgeous carpet then I’ll quit doing it lol lol never never will. I quit just kidding.
I love the rings. I think I'll add the powders to my wish list. Glad they sold well at the craft fair.❤
I love this & can’t wait to try it!
Thanks you. As usual, you make this look like something we can do; no matter if a newby or advanced resin artist.
Beautiful work! 😊

Congrats on sales. Those are beautiful. ❤
OMG that mirror trick is brilliant!! i will try that out next time i'm using UV resin. Also thanks for telling us about the jdiction resin, it's absolutely the best UV resin i've used.
Please, when you use a mirror under the uv lamp take care of your eyes, it is like looking to the sun. Great video as always, thank you
Those are all really great! Congratulations on your sales!
I am excited to be your 1k likes, that was a first for me, awesome video, love the colors you chose, they will sell fast.
❤❤❤
I love this!! I’m barely starting my resin journey and these tips from u r gonna come in handy. So glad I found ya! Ur great at teaching!
Great video. Thanks Steve. What an amazing profit!
Thanks Steve. I love UV resin & any tutorial on it is so helpful. I thought everything had to be translucent so I only added uv resin tint. I’m very happy to hear new things I can use. Opened a whole new world to me.
Always a fun video! I love those rings! 😀

I just made some bezel pendants I love making them
Love your videos!! So helpful!
So wonderful! Where is the link for the video to the thermo coasters? Couldn't find it 😢
They look amazing.
FYI - Let’s Resin won’t ship to the UK :(, and then Amazon has the Theromochromic powder with the price seriously inflated.
Well not at the moment at least.
I love it!!! I have used the same powder & for some reason they don't change color???
❤
These are great! How much do you sell the pendent for? And if you "jazz them up" with extra metal buts etc?
I am so excited that you did that! I asked you a few videos back when you used that if you could make mood rings! THANK YOU for showing that! Beautiful! ❤ Happy you sold them all! Hope you have a fantastic day, Steve! I don't have a dowel but I do have a ring shaper ( it's heavy & metal) , can that be used?
Hey, Love you and your crafting... where do you get your ring blanks?
Could you use a pipette to put the mixture into the bezel?
Can do this with the other resin?
I wonder if you could just use UV nail gel that changes color?
This project looks interesting. Can you use non UV resin with the Thermochromic Powder?
Steve, is there really a difference between that backing tape and ordinary sellotape?
Where did you find those baggies with the ring size???
Would you ever think of doing a video comparing the Let's Resin Mica, Let's Resin Chameleon Flakes, and Let's Resin Duos? Steve, how are you able to get the thermo powder? When I click on your link it brings me to Lets Resin US. Can I get them anywhere else that will deliver to Ireland 🇮🇪 😊
It's a pity let's resin doesn't have more things on there UK sales 😔
Interested in getting the thermochromic powders. Wanted to get them through your Amazon affiliate but they're not listed.
The colour effect doesn't last very long. It says so on the pack
Do you put chains or ropes on the pendants
Do you ever make stuff while you are at a craft fair?
I have had problems with curing when I use darker mica powder.
Sometimes I don’t find out until I drill a hole in my piece & uncured resin starts coming out of the hole.
I do try to cure in layers. Any suggestions?
Absolutely. If you're using UV resin you have to cure in layers because where the UV doesn't reach, it cannot cure.
TRIED TO GET THESE POWDERS BUT LETS RESIN SITE WON'T LET ME PAY WITH GBP NOR USE MY ADDRESS HERE
