Looked like the steam generator to a nuclear reactor. Worked around them a lot in Barberton Ohio and Evansville Indiana. Pressure tested to 254 atmospheres, that’s 3,700 psi. Water won’t boil until heated to 700 deg F at that pressure. You can transfer a lot of heat with water that temp.
Years ago there was a company called whessoe engineering in the town up the road from me my dad worked there as a plater they built stuff like this fascinating stuff to see the process of big heavy plate being worked into these vessels
Have you ever welded 2or 3 inch steel its not the same buddy this takes an incredible amount of skill and patience I know because ive done it these guys are talented from the layout guy, fitter, welder ,machinistand laborer So its not the same as smaller scale My 2 cents
@@armandogonzales1365 Well i actually have welded even thicker steel than that. I did my apprenticeship i think you would call it that in English. At R.D.M Submarines. A Dutch shipyard specializing in guess what ? Yes Submarines. Subsequently did a lot of different stuff. Anything from structural steel to experimental items greenhouse heating systems and machinery etc etc. In principal it is all the same. I i make a small pedestriam bridge or a huur railway one. Shaping a bit of plate be it 1 MM or 110 MM essentially is not different. Welding is at heart is reclame thing as well.
Union Carpenter here. Spent my life building scaffolding for you Boilermakers in the USA. From one union brother to another. 👍👍. I wonder who built the scaffold for these men to work off of.
The music ruins the video.
