Soldier boy was rusty after being "imprisoned" for 20 years, and he just had shoot his blast moments before Homelander came, making him in fact weaker for a period of time. While we can see in the final fight how Soldier Boy was able to beat Butcher much faster and doing more damage to Butcher than what Homelander did to Butcher when they fought, now we can say HM was Doing a 2v1, but still the punch weren't as strong as SB in the final fight. Even if Soldier Boy is weaker than Homelander ( Not by much ), Soldier boy could in fact kill Homelander pretty easily, thanks to his blast and thanks to his much more experience in fighting compared to Homelander.
