Dual screens on the previous generation MDX doesn’t look out of place compared to what Lexus did with the LX. I have a 2020 MDX and the dual display setup isn’t as bad as some people make it out to be. I rather have physical buttons and knobs for both stereo and hvac. Leave the touch screen for apple play and android.
@@Nyg2011 I had the 2017 MDX and agree overall. It was nice having the map on top and the Radio/AC info on the bottom screen. My biggest issue with it was how laggy the software was, the built in Nav system was basically useless because of that. Thankfully they fixed it in the 2018+ MDX models.

It's a good-looking car overall, but its real price tag should be around $70,000-$80,000 to sway some buyers from the competition. The interior in this Lexus reminds me of a Honda from 2014-2016, mixed in with the Hyundai Santa-Fe. It does not look or drive like a $120,000 car in this class.
yeah, my 2017 honda accord hybrid touring had the 2 screens centerstack mess, except they were actually integrated... and that was a $25k car new at the time.

I am still driving my very low tech 2017 Camry LE; this aging Baby Boomer likes its big oversized buttons and knobs, and that it takes me comfortably and reliably on my Target and Aldi's runs. But it is fun to ride along in something that I will never buy, and I always look forward to your POV First Impressions..
Absolutely TINY inside for the price. I feel like the old one was more spacious and the interior styling was far more classy looking. New interior looks tacked together with kiddy plastics and shapes
it looks like a late model refresh rather than an entirely new one... maybe it will get better over the years, to the point that it should have been at release.
Everything in the LX is purpose built to last a minimum of 25 years. I will agree with you that the 126K version is not worth it. The LX is max 100K car. The base version starts at 88K. The premium trim at 96k with off-road package is the version to get.
I think it’s classy. Not everything needs to be a touch screen. Also you buy a car like this for the reliability and build quality …… not the gimmicks of electronics that will no matter what look a bid dated anyway in 6-8 years anyway.
some of you really need to get a reality check on what a 10 year old interior looks like. Do yourselves a favour and sit at both the front and rear passenger seat in the ultra luxury package of this car and tell me it looks like a 10 year old interior again.
Fr if you want actual nice interior on this platform the Sequoia is just better, better than the Land Cruiser also. The only LX600 worth buying is probably this Ultra Luxury one if you will spend most of your time in the back seats.

Huge downgrade from the last generation LX. 2 fewer cylinders, at least 1 fewer seat, no split tailgate, no sliding middle row seats, questionable reliability due to the twin turbos, questionable rear end design, tacked on infotainment design, smaller inside. Not worth the money they charge.

Yea i hate this about new vehicles, my 2006 honda crv is roomier inside, i can fit full size standard washing machine in my trunk without even folding the seats, stupid new vehicles and their impractical designs.
Sounds quite a bit more cabin noise than the 2022 Range Rover I test drove the other day, which also looks and feels more luxurious and spacious, and it has split tailgates. Most reviewers like to beat the dead horse of reliability. It doesn't matter because most people lease rather than own. Honestly if you ask me, Toyota/Lexus reliability has gone south in recent years.

i wish the direction of luxury now wasn't so monotone. I might have a softer spot for wood and two tone interiors than some but something at this price just being various shades of black makes it look too pedestrian. I assume the materials are at least better than my current GX... i hope.

The dual screen deal in the front is just ugly, at least make it a seamless transition rather than two whole separate screens with gimmicky buttons
While I agree with you, I think that Lexus buyers pay the extra money because of reliability. Sure, the Rover has better if not more features but Lexus buyers, I imagine, tend to buy this SUV to use it as a daily.

I really struggle to see why someone would buy a vehicle like this at that $128k price. Especially an SUV that no sane person is going to take offroad. Also, its usually kids that sit in the back anyway. You can just hand them a cheap phone or nintendo switch and they're good to go. All those backseat goodies seem like a waste. But then again I come nowhere close to being able to afford something like this, so I suppose I just dont get it.

We own a LX570 which is previous generation. It is way better than this. Our is a 8 seaters. Plenty of space. It is the most spacious car even if you sit in the third row

While this is absolutely not worth 130k you do realize there is a market for reliable cars that will hold their value well against competitors. BMW and Mercedes are terrible to own after few years and Lexus is great for used luxury cars.
They killed it with the new RX interior that looks beautiful. Even the exterior minus the front grill on the RX looks great. I really don’t know what Lexus did here but assume it was designed in Japan and their style is way different, compare it to the sequoia which was designed in the US

Looks pretty small inside compared to the old one especially for the reclining chauffeur rear seats. The LS rear leg room got really tight as well.

lx is a masterpiece but one huge deal-breaker is no diesel option for u.s. (its available for some countries but not usa)

It is the top spec one so it will sell the least but for the 85-90k entry level models I think it’s pretty good
And they off-road a lot in the Middle East with these. Mostly for dunes I have already seen several with larger off-road tires

i dont understand why people will spend the double price for Lexus when there is Toyota, it is the same car with a different logo, same company, same engineer team, same technology. same engine... so
for what? luxury? in that case, why not choose Mercedes benz or BMW? Again, for what...just for the Lexus Logo?
While this is absolutely not worth 130k you do realize there is a market for reliable cars that will hold their value well against competitors. BMW and Mercedes are terrible to own after few years and Lexus is great for used luxury cars.

Even the new Lexus vehicles are looking old and outdated compared to the competition.
They killed it with the new RX interior that looks beautiful. Even the exterior minus the front grill on the RX looks great. I really don’t know what Lexus did here but assume it was designed in Japan and their style is way different, compare it to the sequoia which was designed in the US
