My #1 is price. Amazon has a sale right now on the S24 Ultra 256gb for $1150. Google Pixel 8 Pro 256gb is currently $809. The Google site says it'll give me $150 trade-in for my 4a5g, bringing the price to $660. Samsung a month or two ago was offering something like $40 or 50 for trade-in (fair enough, this phone must be worthless, but cheers to Google for the inflated trade-in; note, trade-in if buying the Pixel 8 is $52). Now, the fact that I'm still using a 4a5g (with around 80% battery health) shows I'm not a power user, though recharging during the days gets annoying. I agree with your opinion there's nothing that I can say more or less. I had got the pixel fold and thought it was the best thing since sliced bread and it was but it wasn't getting what the eight and eight probe were getting which then got me to thinking same as you then when I believe February's or March's update came out they were saying we're taking circular search to everything but the pixel fold I was like I'm moving the Samsung, I did not like how Google did that like you said you pay almost $1,500 for a phone that can't even do AI stuff. Then to top that off you release the 8 pro like like you said 3 to 4 months later so the phone was a dud it was an experiment that they tried and it kind of succeeded what it was supposed to do but now that I think about it I'm glad I got rid of my fold I paid almost three grand for it and it does nothing but act like a book now if Samsung can make a foldable like the pixel fold or in that form factor Golden but I still say Samsung should take a page out of Apple and allow people to pick and choose what app store they want. I don't like the double app store I wish Google photos was the standard gallery app I like how they swapped over to Google messages that was a big step up but overall I don't like Samsung because of the double stores in the double apps I just don't like it it feels too much of a bloatware if Samsung can make a phone without all the extraness to it they would be golden in Android just that alone Stock Android without the one you I without the like Galaxy store and the Galaxy clock and the Galaxy apps like if they could just get rid of the Galaxy part of it it'll be great cuz you could use all the Galaxy products on other Android phones and or iOS and I don't see a Galaxy store on an iPhone nor do I see a Galaxy store on a pixel like if Samsung can just get rid of one UI to the point where it can work without all the double everything it would be fantastic amazing I know I'm kind of ripping the soul out of Samsung but still I think it would be way better
It sucks but I mentioned this to you a while back that leaving the Snapdragon chipset was a bad idea. Samsung will have better and more reliable AI features in 2 years or less. 1st time I haven't bought a new pixel in 4 years. Great Video!
iPhone , Samsung , nothing (except camera) is always a better and stable choice than pixel. Pixel is trash with performance , thermals , customisation ... Overall!
True.. I tried it out thought it was way better and nice but after awhile, the phones performance is just so cheap compared to Samsung so idk probably not gonna get another one
I gave the Pixel line 2 chances. One with the Pixel 6 and the second time with the Pixel 7a. Both phones were trash. Both had massive signal issues, thermal issues as it heated up and shut off with basic usage such as navigation with Android auto and stranded me EVERy time. I had to buy one of those thermo electric coolers which worked around 80 percent of the time. It pushed me to a Xiaomi which was great but I then just got a Sony 1V. Both phones never overheated during this kind of usage...not even close.
Varies from person to person. I'm a long time Samsung user and just switched to P8P and couldn't be happier, I'm never going back. Pixel just has what I like and find important. I have a Xiaomi as well and feel they are one of the best. As for Crapple....no... Just no lol.
What advantages do the Pixel 8 Pro have over the S24 Ultra? I can think of between 250 and 300 (sometimes 450 and 500) of them and that's all I needed.
Will the Sony Xperia 1 V be getting all of the Google A.I. features considering it's pretty close to stock android but also uses a snapdragon chip like all 2023 flagship androids?
Samsung is Google's biggest Android customer. They should be supporting Samsung in any way possible. They're much more of a customer than a competitor.
My Pixel 8 Pro is perfect for me as far as software/UI goes. I wish I got the Pixel 8 though. Instead, I have the S24. I love small, petite phones I guess.
I had the pixel 8 for 2 months and the Haptic Feedback is gone☹️. Checked settings and it's all set to high. Is anyone else having this problem. Have 2 phones and both have this problem.
isn't the google chip specifically made for ondevice ai features. So if you compare it to Samsung, you will have to pay for their ai services in a couple of years cause of it being cloud based, but google wont have that issue or am I wrong?
Great job and thanks for the info. Google should just go back to letting other Manufacturers make their phones like that used to. Because they clearly don't know what they're doing.
Since the march 2024 update I have had nothing but issues with battery drain on the 7 pro.. and have noticed a real lag in performance as well. And having issues with meet and calls not responding to the point I have to power down and reboot. Guess I'm glad I didn't go for the 8 pro. But Google needs to understand if the 9 pro is anything like what we have gone through with the 6,7 and 8 I will not purchase another unit from them.
I am happy with my Pixel 8 Pro as it supports my needs. However, I am not too keen on the direction that Google is taking the Pixel and it will probably put me off upgrading to the Pixel 10 in 2025. Being in the UK, the Samsung S24 is probably no better than the Pixel 8 since it runs on the Exynos SOC and not to mention being packed to the gills with bloatware. So In 2025, I will be looking to see what Sony is doing with their Xperia line up.
The Samsung bloatware argument is outdated imo. I can put all the Samsung apps in one folder and I don't have to ever see them again. Never had this problem on my S22.
Exynos isn't what it is 2 years ago in fact the only people talking like you did are the ones whoes not used the s24 series but stil judging from what the s22serries expereience was like. Secondly, there isn't any bloatware on samsung phones, what u have is samsung proprietary apps and Google apps that does same thing, all u have to do is choose and disable the ones u don't use. People complain about bloatware, have you tried chinees phones, when you do you'll realize samsung phones has no bloatware.
@@stuartzimmermann4180 exactly my point. People will use a phone, have a little glitch which is common with any tech and they'll straight up say it's because of exynos. No phone, I repeat no phone is free from glitch, in fact the Iphone with all the power house has more bugs and glitch than any other phone on the planet.
It's been while but I love your video's. Keep up the good work. I'm thinking of getting a pixel 8 are they all flat screen? Which version would you recommend I'm assuming the new pixel 8 a is getting the new Ai?
Google is ridiculous. My $300 OnePlus Nord N30 5g has Gemini assistant on it after the Oxygen OS 14 update. Google can't even get that on the $800 Pixel 8. Seriously!
You laid out EXACTLY why I went back to Samsung after trying my hardest to like Pixels, and I generally prefer other OEMs because Samsung is so boring in comparison. It's like everyone wants Google to succeed more than they do themselves.
Your assessment is spot on! I wanted to love the pixel line, I truly wanted too because it has soooo much potential. I had the Pixel 7 Pro, and I wanted to love it/keep it so bad, but the heating issues, poor call quality, and poor battery drove me insane. Not only that, their poor security/OS update rollouts, their many lawsuits, the lack of communication to consumers on Pixel issues, and their terrible decisions on Pixel phones drove me back to Samsung to get the S24+. Their decisions are not making sense anymore.😐😬
Yes... I've owned the pixel 2,3,4,5,6,7 now rocking the 8. Tried the Galaxy s23 for about 6 months. Did not like it.. but it's sad to say you make sense and Google needs to listen to it's fan base ... We're little against Apple and Samsung in the us..
Just being honest, samsung is the number one android in the world, period. Google makes software, but what gets my attention is not even the android from google. It is the one Ui from samsung, which now is so good and smooth and better than google stock android; surely this is more from preference but remember samsung always had good players around. Back in the days were motorola, htc, sony, lg, etc. Today the players are the chinese guys, Xaomi, Huawei,Oppo, Vivo. I always liked more the samsung phones, i just stopped to buy US Samungs because the bootloader is locked and i like my phones rooted. That being said i buy international samsung and it's hard nowadays be out of samsungs, they are really good in every aspect, plus android is so good if you know what the sistem can do. The freedom to do everything is insane, games, emulator, video, customization, do whatever you want. Google should prioritize the Android system which is the most important thing.
I love my Pixel 8 pro and my Pixel Fold but I agree it's unfair how they have treated the fold it's a great phone but it should have all the features because it's the most expensive phone google makes. I don't like Pixel vanilla OS, hate their Quick Panel, hate the Google bar at the bottom of the screen, hate the At A Glance you can't remove.

You are a hundred % correct and that's why I went back to my OnePlus 11 which is perfectly fine. I will be getting a OnePlus 12 very soon, and some AI features are starting to show up on my OP11
1:24 the 2nd way of showing 3 You did was, afaik, how far-east-Europeans and Russians do it. classic European counting uses the thumb, index- and middle-finger for 1 2 3, in that order :)

Me too. It was a small thing that stuck with me that I never thought of
100% spot on!
Just Goolag being Goolag.
My phone gets hot for no reason and my battery drains for no reason
I think it's the modem because my pixel 8 pro gets hot. Even when I use the phone just as a hotspot
Not stable enough to consistently be 5g, switch to LTE I'm sure you'll notice a huge difference
Because the rebranded Exynos (Tensor) sucks
@@jerrymartinez2528 Google just needs to stop cheating their customers. Pixel owners shouldn't have to deal with a 5G phone that can't do 5G right.

I have a pixel 7 on T-Mobile and i still haven't had the march feature drop , living in the U S
Want the March feature update. do a factory reset. It worked for me just make sure you back up your phone before you do it. Im also on T-Mobile

It sucks but I mentioned this to you a while back that leaving the Snapdragon chipset was a bad idea. Samsung will have better and more reliable AI features in 2 years or less. 1st time I haven't bought a new pixel in 4 years. Great Video!
Management issue
iPhone , Samsung , nothing (except camera) is always a better and stable choice than pixel.
Xiaomi is amazing but I'm a SAMSUNG knight

Sticking with pixel 7 pro until Oneplus 13 next year.
If they have the same chip is one overclocked to run the Ai and 8 regular doesn't
I'm still waiting for Google Fuschia OS to drop a working version.
Preach Rev. Matlock!
Haha. Thanks brother
I switched to a moto edge plus 2023 and Im happy. I still have my 8 pro and I atill think it's a great phone. At lesst the AI will remain free.
My Pixel 7 Pro doesn't have circle to search.
I 100 percent agree!
And by the way no one is talking about this...I search for this and nothing
I still haven't got the March feature drop update on my unlocked Pixel 8 pro.
Side load the update. It’s pretty easy and is a much faster process than doing an OTA update.
I had the pixel 8 for 2 months and the Haptic Feedback is gone☹️. Checked settings and it's all set to high. Is anyone else having this problem. Have 2 phones and both have this problem.
What is haptic feedback?
Google Gemini is cool but I prefer chat gpt especially after that update and Google assistant is still great
Thank you so much for making this video. I'm definitely getting a Samsung phone, next time. Going to rock my Pixel 6 pro until!
isn't the google chip specifically made for ondevice ai features. So if you compare it to Samsung, you will have to pay for their ai services in a couple of years cause of it being cloud based, but google wont have that issue or am I wrong?
Google also treats other customers outside the US like trash. Fucking done with pixel after the S25 drops
Great job and thanks for the info. Google should just go back to letting other Manufacturers make their phones like that used to. Because they clearly don't know what they're doing.
I get a vibe of betrayal from Google after using their 7 pro and 8 pro... Chances of buying 9 pro are very slim now.
Since the march 2024 update I have had nothing but issues with battery drain on the 7 pro.. and have noticed a real lag in performance as well. And having issues with meet and calls not responding to the point I have to power down and reboot. Guess I'm glad I didn't go for the 8 pro. But Google needs to understand if the 9 pro is anything like what we have gone through with the 6,7 and 8 I will not purchase another unit from them.
google giving all of their stuff.. like wwhy
Tbh the exynos in the s24 is fantastic . My wife has thr 24+ . I have the s23 fe exynos and its brilliant as well .
@de-luxe491 even the 2200 in thr fe is loads better than it was than when it was in the s22 much more optimised
When is the Motorola think phone getting Android 14?
It's been while but I love your video's. Keep up the good work. I'm thinking of getting a pixel 8 are they all flat screen? Which version would you recommend I'm assuming the new pixel 8 a is getting the new Ai?
As always, I learn a ton from watching your videos.
Google is ridiculous. My $300 OnePlus Nord N30 5g has Gemini assistant on it after the Oxygen OS 14 update. Google can't even get that on the $800 Pixel 8. Seriously!
The whole discourse is about Gemini nano 😅
You laid out EXACTLY why I went back to Samsung after trying my hardest to like Pixels, and I generally prefer other OEMs because Samsung is so boring in comparison. It's like everyone wants Google to succeed more than they do themselves.
Yea i agree going fold 5 soon or one plus open🤷🏾♂️
As I’m loving my s24
It’s a great phone

It really sucks and I have no problem with tensor either its fine with me I don't really stress about it power or battery it's actually been really good for me. Seeing all the shit my 8 pro can do that my fold can't is just sad.
When is the Motorola think phone getting Android 14
It's a battle ground right now think money 💰 and where it goes your half way there ❤
Samsung stop Google from doing the desk mode too for the Pixel 8 pro
Funny thing is all those fancy AI stuff can be gotten on $200 Chinese phone.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Google should have stuck with Qualcomm! Samsung is surpassing Google in software and updates
Temperature sensor a Pro feature 🤣
It’s in the pro… so
I think Google is going to end the pixel phones in 5 years MAX. Tensor is just a customized Exynos....this comes from a pixel user. I have a 4a6g, the 5 series was trash. I have a 6 pro and an 8 pro. Not sure if another pixel will be in my future.... let's hope I am wrong.
Samsung doesn't even want to be associated with Android, but Google made them stop trynna separate themselves from Android
Are Google putting the AI features behind a paywall next year like Samsung are?
No need for a paywall. They’re just not giving the features to phones
