Glad to hear you appreciate Helen's style. She had a unique way of making complex techniques look effortless, which is what many viewers find inspiring. Thanks for the comment and for following the channel.
Thank you always. I am from Russia, 88 years old, and I have never painted, but I tried 7 years ago. Watching Helen helps me a lot. Her style, image, and voice remind me of old American movies. She is a real joy to watch. Blessings.
The video is really invaluable, it demonstrates blending perfectly and is very helpful. I have never painted along with videos but I am going to do it on this one. As one of the many grateful Helen fans out there, thank you for posting again.
Your very welcome and thanks for sharing that this lesson was helpful. If the onion doesn't work out the first time you try, wipe it out and try again.
wow, the mastery in these videos is so clearly demonstrated, and yet she keeps it simple so that the understanding of the basic things like where the light is, where the shadow is, and where the edge is. How to blend. So glad to have found this channel

Actually no. There never was a soup lesson and Helen didn't even know how to make homemade soup. She did, however, make really superior art lessons for her students. In her own words, Helen said: 'I love to teach. I really do. Because it gives me a chance to talk about what I love...painting.'"
Sad to say but Helen passed away in 1994 but I’m sure she would be grateful for your kind words. She was a fantastic artist and teacher. More of Helen's lessons to come so watch for them. Thanks for posting.

Helen's bending technique was beneficial in making my own painting look more realistic.
If you're after dimensional realism, and haven't yet watched the 5 tone values lesson, here it is:

Has Helen ever had a chance to teach making a soup or even published her cooking books?
Helen has written about twelve books, all focused on painting. She hasn't written any books about cooking.
I'm waiting for the soup video lol.
