Ri3D 2024 - FRC Crescendo

This year, AC Robotics decided to do something a little different for Ri3D. Our goal was to make a robot that is as accessible as possible for rookie teams and teams on a budget. This Ri3D was also special to us as it was the first-ever build for the rookie team 9449 Yellowjackets.
Based on the kit-bot, we hope other teams can learn something, or at the very least get some entertainment as we document the rookie journey of team 9449!

You've changed the game.
Earlier today our team was debating if we should forego the amp entirely. My argument was that any effort/design real-estate spent on trying to make a shooter that also does the amp is an engineering risk.
Now we can rest easy that something like this can be pretty reliably shoehorned onto a shooter in the late weeks as a backup strategy.

We had prototyped other mechanisms but this had the best cycle time and was the most reliable (granted we had limited time testing). It's also the most approachable for newer teams which is nice :D

Historically AC Robotics was a scouts team (6679 TESLA) that had all of its members graduate and go to the University of Calgary to form the Alberta Region Alumni group. We've now come full circle and are supporting a new team (9449 Yellowjackets)

we opted not to attempt end game with our Ri3D build, although 9449 will definetly try to have it for competition alongside some other fairly drastic changes
