Inside Look: The 175ft Bad Company Support Vessel

- After two years in production, we jump on board the Bad Company Support 175' vessel in Antalya, Turkey with Chief Engineer Ryan who explains some of the challenges that BadCo and Damen team have faced during the build.
The largest of course is the replacement of the MTU starboard engine back in December. Damen decided to cut the upper deck to remove and install the new MTU engine, so the heli hanger and the large crane had to be removed. 11 tons of MTU 16V4000 came out.
Over the last two months she has been put back together in preparation for her big day - seatrial second week of March. We’re all a little nervous about it and hope all goes well. Delivery early April and 2-3 weeks of shake down trips in the Med, then she is officially joining the world tour. First stop likely Madeira in June.
The submarine is done and being delivered from Netherlands, Bell 505 chopper sitting in a container at Damen waiting to be let loose, Viking Billfish 38 being born now, while BadCo 50 hull is about to start. Rounding out the rest of the toys, 15 and 25 RIB. 3 jet skis, and 2 KTM electric motorcycles.
Onward and upward!

My hat goes off to Ryan. Given a “new build” like this with the curve balls thrown at him and the Bad Company Team, you guys are rock stars. Looking forward to the next video.
Yeah Ryan is the man. Amazing crews on all the boats for sure.
We appreciate you. More content coming soon!
That’s going to be an amazing support vessel! Looks like you handled the engine replacement really well. Can’t imagine the level of stress to find out that’s what had to happen. Still a lot to do but looks like you have a great team!
All BADCo content is just beyond inspiring ✨️
What an impressive vessel
I missed why engine had to be removed..
As a sailor..I am surprised the boat was not built with better route to remove an engine.
That was a ton of work
Thank you for the inside look😊😊
The motor blew on first sea trial
@DillonJ96. That is not acceptable. Those engines are test stand run for hours..
@@robertsloane1268it was a faulty valve that made it into production. Very small number they said made it thru into engines
Wow, thats tough dealing with a 1&3.5 million chance of the motor being screwed an it was. Then pulling it through the floor.
I pray to have something like this one day I’d love to take my family and friends along watch them catch awesome fish around the world and hopefully share my passion ❤
Poor Ryan looks so tired, I can’t tell if you’re Aussie or Kiwi, either way your brain must be hurting with all of the things you need to remember to do. The BadCo team are lucky to have you. 🇦🇺 Can’t wait to see you guys on the ocean.
Great work Ryan, wishing the Bad Company crew a successful world tour. 🍾🥂👌🏾
Thank you!
Everything looks incredible. I cant wait to see it support further adventures. I just hope the marine exhaust systems, dpf & scr, are less problematic than the land versions.
Lets go so excited to see this boat in action.
Good to Kiwis on the job! What a project Ryan.
Thank you for sharing Anthony
Thank you for watching!
So much love to yall!
Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure!
Patiently and eagerly waiting for the BCS sub footage! Can't wait to see the ocean floor at Ascension and other potential world tour destinations
You and me both!
How long can the sub run for? Does it run off diesel?
That’s awesome!
This is unreal!
Audacious, I love it!
Amazing ship ❤
I know it’s hard work but what an awesome job
Thats alot of work to hit that date. I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets pushed out another 4 weeks.
Spot on!👊🏻🇺🇸
😮 thats kinda big investment for a fishing trip 😅
👍👍 Awesome
Big project’s anything is possible, and 100 %only on Hollywood movies 😂.
THIS IS AN AMAZING VESSEL 👏 😍..HOWEVER THIS SET BACK MUST BE VERY DISSAPOINTING TO SAY THE LEAST!!!!😢😮...I NEVER THOUGHT THIS COULD HAPPEN TO A MTU ENGINE!!!!...I WONDER WHO IS GOING TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF THIS REPAIR????...AND HOW MUCH WILL IT BE??.....ON A SHIP 🚢 OF THIS SIZE YOU WOULD THINK PLANS TO REMOVE THE ENGINE WOULD HAVE BEEN MADE MUCH EASIER!!!!...I CANT EMAGIN HOW ANTHONY MUST BE VERY DISSAPOINTED 😢😢😢.....
What a nightmare!!
Absolutely incredible to do this ! I keep asking under the comments here , but would anyone have an estimate for how much the yearly cost is for the fleet crew planes helicopters crew etc
Thanks for following and the question. We share the adventure and fishing but never the budget or finances.
@@TeamBadCo completely understand, go get em
You can tell this guys is tired of being in Turkey and wants to be out to sea ASAP.
