Episode 2: Refusing to Be Afraid of the Dark

During a very difficult time in her life when everything was changing and it didn’t seem to be for the better, Stormie Omartian prayed to God to show her how to live the life it seemed He was calling her to live. The more she prayed and drew closer to God, the more He began to show her an amazing revelation that changed her life forever.
Stormie explains that each time something is required of her that she’s certain she’s unable to accomplish in her own strength, she sees a picture of a stairway with a window that allows light on just one or two steps while the steps before and after are engulfed in darkness and cannot be seen. This is how she learned to really walk with God. She follows His lead even when she can’t see where she’s going even when it scares her to do so because deep within her spirit, she knows that these simple steps of faith are preparing her not only for her immediate future, but also for eternity.

Thank you for this amazing teaching 🌻 I thought I’d share (as a woman in middle age) that I keep under my pillow a small wooden handmade cross, the size of my palm (that I was given at a retreat many, many, many years ago). At night, if I have a nightmare or an unsettling dream, (or I have a worry on my mind) I reach under my pillow and hold it, say a prayer or two (e.g., Our Father) and I’ll often continue to hold onto it until it drops out of my hand naturally after I have gone back to sleep. This simple act settles me. How blessed I feel to have Jesus/God/Holy Spirit in my life. Such wonderful comforters. Thank you for your channel. I’m a new subscriber : )
