Little known fact: Gav is actually a host for The Moustache, which has migrated from face to face since the passing of its progenitor, Louis Cyr. Somewhere out there is Eugen Sandow's moustache, driving its host to greater feats of strength, so that it may one day challenge Louis Cyr's moustache for supremacy.
Really enjoying these weekly podcasts and interviews but I do Wish Colin would let these guests talk and not keep interrupting them with stories. Just let the guest talk and give them a chance to answer the questions
Met Gav in power athletics in Caerphilly, he told me he would be world's strongest Man, I chuckled a little, then he gave me a death stare, that alone convinced me that he's potentially gonna do it
Radzi for 17 days involved with the World Snooker Championships (which was absolutely unreal and the best sport to watch hands down) and contrastingly involved and talking with the strongman scene. (The other best sport to watch hands down). There is not a better sports presenter, commentator, fan out there💪💪 radzi should be a lock for a captain in a question of sport one day, hes absolutely everywhere in every sport.
I can feel for big gav. I served as an US army infantry and being 6'6" also haha. Of course I had to lug around the m240 and my squad average height was 5'8"....felt like a dark joke my Sargents wanted to do haha
You joke when you announce 5’8’’ of average ??? Its average in hogwarts kitchen or gringotts bank !!!! Not possible in Army. Average of 5’10’’ ok... but 5’8’’ is impossible in Army . I ,ive in France . Minimum height for hae right to serve in Army is 1m70 ( barefoot) mesured the morning if you have chance 1m70 is 5’7’’ lot of young men have 6 FT average of 5’8’’ is impossible except if US ARMY count true dwarfs (5’6’’ or less) in your ranks !!!! Here its impossible. You can have derogation for olympian game maedalists ( in 5 first place since 2004 ) but for work in office in civilian .....not uniform.
Gavs correct - Infantry is the only job that matters. I was in Afghanistan same time, I was plus sized Infantryman. Gav is twice my size. Can’t believe he was Infantry. Respect.
Colin, you're starting to emulate the great Geoff Capes in his retired years with your waistline. You're still in your 40's mate, better get it in check now before you blow up to 400 pounds.
I wouldn't say it's impossible, but I would say it's highly improbable. There are a lot of athletes better than Gavin that struggle to achieve first place, and then you got the true top-tier ones, like Licis, Novikov, Kieliszkowski, T. Stoltman, etc. I see Brian Shaw winning his fifth before Gavin reaching top 5 at WSM or the Arnold.
gavin is 34, its a ridiculous thing to say. I love the guy and out of all the strongmen he looks the most like the 1800s circus lifters that started it all, but this statement is delusional. Oleksii WON wsm at 24.
@@hbpw857 I know that man. The strongest man in the world would have to be. I'm just saying it's dumb to use superlatives. Even competing at a pro level is astounding

Ya can tell he is ex army just by the way he conducts himself,I’ve been watching him since he started strongman and now he has finally got himself in shape I think there is some good things to come as he is strong as a bill but he is probably the nicest lad in strongman.
This this the thing that always bothers me: granted we can agree Gav needs to improve his fitness to get the success he is capable of. And many people keep saying this and writing him off. But, given his army and rugby background, he has the knowledge and the past to show he can get conditioned and also knows how to do this. I think if he gets on it, he can do big things.
@@Chrontard Not yet. It does take time and Gav is still relatively new to top tier strongman. Remember how long it took Thor Björnsson to get his deadlift from 300kg to 501kg
Gav is a huge guy but there was a vid when they all showed up at wsm acouple years ago and he was by Brian and you can tell he was like damn this guy is bigger than me and I weigh more lol
my scare was when i drank almost 700mg of caffeine and felt like i was about to blow up. I try to stick to 300mg and below now but caffeine is dangerous. Especially now that everyone on social media double scoop 300mg pre workouts
Guys, first of all, I love the show, great guests, I'm waiting for every new episode..... but try not to speak over each other, put on headphones so you can hear it. Overall its great ❤️ but when everyone is speaking at once, it becomes annoying very fast.... Other than that, these podcasts are great!
I worked with a guy similar, was even in the Bath reserve squad for abit, then broke his leg and got in World of Warcraft and didn't like getting tackled anymore lol
Gav's a nice guy..love to see him lift trophy..but I just don't see him winning WSM?? too many better strongmen will be competing with him over nxt few years. ..
He needs a proper nutritionalist, I've heard him say he doesn't track calories and just eats whatever. Bigger isn't always better, if he can maybe slim down some more and get faster maybe he'll become one of the best, but not the way he's going now.
Little known fact: Gav is so huge he's actually about a meter behind Radzi in this vid.
Wait, are you implying he is bigger than Radzi?
@@jsims1617 he is taller and heavier than radzi, and he looks bigger than radzi, look at the size and mass of his legs, shoulders and arms

Crazy how big Gavs legs are.
Had the privilege to train with Gav a little over a year ago, glad to see him on the Pod!
He needs to get a lot faster in the moving events if he wants to challenge the best
I just love this guy and his whole energy. The Bull will go places!
This was a great chat. World class athlete coming across as a super sound guy. One of the many reasons I love this sport.
Didn't no gav was a soldier, big respect and thank you for your service
Hope Gav does it, such a great genuine bloke.

So great to see another snooker fan on a Strongman page. What a championship we've just been treated to!
Radzi's knowledge of Strongman (and every sport, for that matter) is absolutely unreal! The man is a walking encyclopaedia.
Snooker and strongman are literally the only sports I keep up with (if you don't count the odd bit of heavyweight boxing)

Can't wait to see where smarter training at a lighter bodyweight will take Gavin👊
